That should be an easy one....there are so many beautiful fall images out there, the difficult part is choosing which one to use! I used Magnificent Maple again, this time embossing it in Gold Glory EP on vellum:
I colored the leaf with markers of various fall shades, then I mounted it on a circle of Sweater Weather with a mat of Brushed Gold cardstock. I added a strip of stamped "gingham" and some embossed stitching on either side using the Needlepointrder EF. Now, a few of you may be scratching your heads, wondering how I managed to get the embossing down the length of the card like this, because if you've tried to use the folder oriented this way, it is too wide to fit the Big Shot. Well, don't tell anyone, but I just cut the bottom edge of the folder off right by the last little stitch, and now it fits! Technically, it is not supposed to go into the Big Shot at that angle; it is meant to go in lengthwise, so do this at your own risk! I cannot imagine what they think might happen to the Big Shot putting in through that way, but again, they made them long for a reason. I just wanted to be a rebel and wanted my embossing to go down the length of my card!!! So just be forewarned! I added a sentiment and mailed this on its way.
Oh you are a rebel for sure! Necessity is the mother of invention I say! Beautiful fall card - loved the last one as well! And oh I wish I were on vacation! No time to breath it seems these days in Emmaville!
ReplyDeleteSuper sweet fall card my rebel friend :-) Enjoy the rest of your week off ~ have a wonderful time with your family ~ blessings to you LeAnne!
ReplyDeleteFab card--love the single falling leaf.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning:
ReplyDeleteIt was fun to get up today and see your post - was missing what Cassidy was up to - I love your cards and the talent you have but have gotten to know Cassidy along the way - so when you don't blog it is like missing a friend.
Marcie

ReplyDeleteI love so many things about this card! Now I HAVE to get the gingham wheel. Love the leaf mounted on the circles! ...and the border of embossed stitching. A win win all the way around. Just might have to CASE this. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteWow that leaf looks stunning embossed in gold! I've always been afraid to heat emboss on vellum, I'm afraid I'll melt it! Love the gingham border too. Can you tell I like gingham?
ReplyDeleteFabulous card, LeAnne! I have to tell you that I cut the end off several of my EFs too! The new ones just don't fit in the big shot horizontally. Anyway, we're rebels together! Love the embossing on vellum so soft and pretty. A perfect card! Hope you had a great break!! ((Hugs))
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect clean and simple fall card. You rebel, you! Now I am off to cut my embossing folder. lol
