Happy Thursday, peeps! I have two cards today for three challenges. Both cards use the Seize the Sketch sketch #1….that amazing Lesley has started another sketch challenge! Here’s the first one:
Unfortunately, I need a sympathy card, so I found some beautiful MME papers, cut off a triangular panel from one piece and adhered it to a pretty polka-dotted background:
I did some stitching, stamped a label image, made a little banner and attached it all with a glimmer brad, some shabby ribbon in Soft Sky and some loopy gold thread:
And isn’t this vintage sewing machine image the sweetest?
This card also qualifies for the City Crafter Challenge, which is to use polka dots!
The next one uses the Dynamic Duos color challenge 64:
My heart wasn’t quite in this one as much as the first one, but I needed a thank you card RIGHT AWAY, so this one had to do:
I just feel like it’s missing something, but it is long gone! I used the heart from Kind & Cozy to make a little “flower” center. I also used Gingham Garden washi tape to make the center for my build-a-brad…I love that!
Dana shared these photos with me…..Cassidy has a little etch-a-sketch type toy, and she drew a self portrait….pretty good, for an almost 3YO:
She even got the ponytails in the right place (although she might tell you that they are arms, LOL!). Enjoy your day! And since I am in a wee bit of a hurry today, I’m not sharing recipes….if you need to know anything about either of these cards, shoot me an email!
These are both pretty cards LeAnne! I do tend to swoon over polka dots!! Love Cassidy's portrait, and the arm comment gave me a giggle!!
ReplyDeleteLove that little sewing machine and the polka dots on the first one and the way you used the colors and flower on the second. I'm amazed that Cassidy drew that picture! Have you ever tried to draw on those things? She's going to take after her grandmother I think!
ReplyDeleteWow I think you have an artist on your hands! That is amazing or almost 3.
ReplyDeleteI love the vintage cards the past couple of day. They are wonderful!
Oh be still my heart. I absolutely love that first card. Every little detail including the sewing and ribbon. Thanks for joining us in our first challenge at Seize the Sketch.
ReplyDeleteWOWZER!! Two gorgeous creations, but I have to say that the top card really is quite amazing with the stitching and details! Great job! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the stitching and shabby bow on your first card! And your second is so bright and cheery! And I think Miss C has some of Grandma's artistic talent!
ReplyDeleteYour sympathy card is pretty and tasteful. Love the stitching along with the vintage sewing machine.

That Cassidy is just too darn cute.
Hey GF beautiful cards and love the sewing machine. Yes that plaid brad is darling. Cassidy is taking after her Grandma more and more. LOL!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness...Cassidy is growing so fast!
ReplyDeleteLove the the texture and layers on your card LeAnne. You know what? That gingham circle behind your layered flowers...it reminds me of a dinner plate. White with a gingham border. Does that sound weird???
I hope not, cause it's SO cute.
I'm so glad you played along with us at Dynamic Duos this week. :)
