Oooh, that is a challenge—one layer! But I managed to make a one-layer card that was pretty CAS….not a lot of white space….but some pretty stamping and a wee bit of embossing:
I used a set that I haven’t used for a while, Papaya Collage, along with Gorgeous Grunge….amazing how versatile that set is! This card is smaller; note card size; so the images work quite well with it. I diecut the edge and embossed it, then stamped the stripes on the inside of the card to peek out from behind the embossing…such a pretty effect! (Be sure you diecut first, THEN emboss…..you can figure out how I know to do that!!!)
Then I stamped my foliage and butterflies, simply coloring them with some ink and a blender pen, then adding the pearl centers:
I did dye some seam binding for a little bow, but Ann said that was okay to do!!! So, what will you do with this one-layer, clean and simple challenge? Can’t wait to see! And be sure to check out the Paper Players blog to see what the other designers created as well!
We are having Cassidy’s party today, so hopefully I will have some pictures to post this week. Meanwhile, a little shot of the fashionista from last week, courtesy of her mommy:
Have a blessed day!

Wow, you packed a lot of amazing touches into this OLC! It doesn't even seem like it's one layer! Love the embossing, die cut edge, and the pretty stripes peeking through.

ReplyDeleteSo darling. Have a great day.
I have to admit to running the other way when it comes to one layer cards, yet you have created an absolute stunner. It's sweet and gentle. The bright butterflies on the soft greenery gives it so much dimensional - and the grunge just adds more!
ReplyDeletePretty card LeAnne! The butterflies are amazing. Little miss Cassidy looks ready for the runway, look at that flair!!
ReplyDeleteYour card is gorgeous, LeAnne! Love the embossed edge and the touch of grunge with the pretty foliage and butterflies!

ReplyDeleteWowzers, LeAnne you have done a phenomenal job with this OLC! So much dimension and texture that it doesn't even appear to be one-layer. Such a clever stamper you are! Love the inside stamping of the grunge--great look. And Cassidy is rockin' those pink shoes!!
ReplyDeleteThis is a one layer wonder for sure, LeAnne! Wow! I love ll of the detail you added while still keeping it on a single layer. Love the scalloped edge with a pop of pattern inside, too. Seriously, how cute is Cassidy in those shoes?! Haha! Adorable! :)
