ColourQ188

DSCF4659

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  Are you ready for another ColourQ challenge?  How about this:

Gorgeous!  I wish I had a place to wear this…..of course, I guess I could always STAMP in a skirt like this, right?!! LOL!  Anyway, I took the liberty of adding Crumb Cake to the mix when making my card.  A couple of weeks ago, I fell in love with this one-layer card and vowed to try this simple masking technique myself!  So here we go:

LeAnne_CQC188
My first step was to cut a circle in a piece of scrap paper; then I clipped the mask to my Crumb Cake panel.  I brayered the inside circle with Craft White ink, then heat-dried it and stamped floral images from Summer Silhouettes and Fabulous Florets in the challenge colors, still leaving the mask intact.  The Blush Blossom flowers are a bit hard to see, but they are there!  To make the circle stand out a bit more, I used the reverse part of the mask (the circle) and laid it on top of my stamped area, and sponged some Crumb Cake around it, just to give it some more depth; I also paper pierced it.  I made a banner with vellum cardstock, embossing my sentiment from the retiring Friendly Phrases set in white ink and white EF, then mounted it with my shabby bow.  Can you believe this---I dyed my seam binding with Sage Shadow ink, and this is the green that it gave me!!  So weird, but I just went with it!

This is also for The Kraft Journal’s Make It Monday challenge, which is “Just for Her”!

Now, what can you create with this beautiful springy-sunshiney palette?  I can’t wait to see what floral masterpieces you come up with!  Be sure to share them with us all over at the ColourQ blog!  We can’t wait to see them!

  4. Your card is really Beautiful! You can't even tell the it's a one layer card when you first look at it. It has a three-dimensional look, I think the paper piercing is what puts it over the top. You are super talented!

  7. I'm so proud of you for continuing making beautiful cards. I finally stored my card making supplies away in the walk-in closet and bought hanging shoe racks to hold my punches. My book got published last month and I'm already working on the sequel. So. . . no time for cards or visiting blogs for a while. Sad.

P.S. I miss those days of watching my girls care for their dear dollies. They were good little Mamas in their day. SO sweet to watch. Enjoy her youth; as it passes much too quickly.
