Happy Monday, peeps! I made ham & cabbage yesterday for some company and we had a lovely time! However, the temps are just crazy – still feels like winter! They are calling for snow flurries this week! I guess Lesley must have known that…she chose a cute snowman theme for the Merry Monday crafters today:
I made two cards, because I wasn’t happy with the first one!!! I used the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch:
and dusted off an old SU snowman punch for my merry little card:
This is a notecard-sized card, so the image is pretty small. I just realized I didn’t stamp a thing on this except the sentiment on the inside!!! I cut some snowy hills by hand, snow-glittered them all up and used a PTI diecut for the “merry”! I cut his little scarf by hand too:
Edited to add: This also qualifies for the Festive Friday challenge this week, to use "merry" on your card!!!
My original card used the same sketch, but it was just lacking something. Even the addition of paper-piecing and Dazzling Diamonds glitter didn’t help it:
But I will still save it for my Christmas card stash!
I KNOW that there are lots of people who love snowmen, so I hope you will play along with our challenge this week! Can’t wait to see what you create. And be sure to stop by the Always Playing with Paper blog to be inspired by the other designers as well!
I usually spoon Cassidy’s yogurt into a separate cup because she doesn’t eat it all. This particular day, she wanted to do it “by self”…and she’s getting pretty good at it!
Anymore, I don't know if I read your blog for your cool cards or to see what Cassidy's doing! Those snowmen are as sweet as can be but so is that sweet little granddaughter of yours! I love watching her grow and change [my grandchildren are all teenagers and no fun to watch much anymore!]. Just look at Cassidy with the yogurt perched precariously on the end of the table; I so had the urge to skootch the container towards the middle of the table! LeAnne, you're a peach.
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are so cute, but I love the first one! The red really makes it pop and the glitter on the edges is perfection!

ReplyDeleteNo stamping, but way over the top on cute/great card! Very nice! Thanks for posting the card.
Both cards are wonderful LeAnne, your snowmen are all so cute.
ReplyDeleteThis is very good - love that BOLD pop of red. And it will also fit in Festive Friday's challenge (Merry) - go check it out! Thanks so much for playing along with CAS(E) This Sketch this week!
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are so sweet, love the first one with the "merry" die cut and that second one with the group of snowmen is adorable!!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE your red merry card LeAnne! I'm going to copy it! hehe
ReplyDeleteI do love your "Merry" card, that snowman and the scarf you cut for him is darling! I think you aced that CTS Sketch...it is a great card LeAnne, both cards are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteTwo darling cards. Love those die cut words and the that cute snowman grouping in the second. We are cold here too - no snow, but much colder than normal. Just hoping the rain stays away now and then as we have a two week spring break to deal with!
ReplyDeleteBoth of your cards are so cute LeAnne!
ReplyDeleteBoth of these are so sweet, but so different! I think the red, aqua and white is my favorite! Love that the merry and mat color match! Seems to bring out the whole layout and make it sp striking! Sure worked out perfectly for our challenge, so I'm so glad you were able to join us!!!
ReplyDeleteI love that Merry die! It's on my wishlist but alas, my wish list is gigantic. I think I might need to get another job to feed my obsession! What a fun layout! I like the second card too. Whoever gets it will love it!
ReplyDeletelove these snowmen!!
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are adorable, LeAnne! Love the "merry" on the first one and I love everything about the second one! Fabulous job on the "snowman" challenge!! :)
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week!
Oh, they're BOTH gorgeous! I am partial to the one you made for our Festive Friday challenge, only because you used my absolute favourite holiday colour combo! I am so glad it worked that you could join us, and I hope we'll see you again!
ReplyDeleteI agree with everyone else, both cards are gorgeous - but your first card with it's clean lines is fabulous! The "Merry" sentiment is such a stand out!
ReplyDeleteI don't think you ever make a truly bad card - but I would have to agree that the first one is extra special. The big "merry" as the strip on the sketch is so creative and that little snowman - no matter how small and simple - is absolutely charming! Thanks for joining us at CAS(E) this Sketch!
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are gorgeous but I really love the impact of that big, bold "Merry" on the first card! Thanks for playing along with CAS(E) This Sketch this week!
ReplyDeleteLove the cards. Cassidy is becoming a big girl before our eyes. I really enjoy visiting to see what she's up to.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards.
ReplyDeleteLove the merry die cut with that pattern paper. Looks so CAS.
I love both of the cards you created!
ReplyDeleteI love both of your cards but the second one maybe a titch more because the snowmen look so friendly. Does that even make sense? Your little girl is pretty sweet too.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your CTS Favorites with your adorable little snowman "merry" card. It's SO cute LeAnne!
ReplyDeleteMy goodness...Cassidy has grown so much. Such a cutie :)
LeAnne - love your sweet cards! Snowmen just always bring a smile to my face! And your granddaughter is adorable! Those pictures are priceless!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love both of your cards, LeAnne! Sounds like they're very appropriate considering the weather you've had in your area lately! Love seeing the pics of sweet Cassidy! Thanks for sharing them!
