Ah, finally Friday! I am so happy to see the weekend ahead! I have another hostess thank-you card, using the Freshly Made Sketches sketch 78:
I thought I should try to use some colors that I don’t normally use, so today I chose Tangerine Tango:
The monarch butterfly from Papillon Potpourri is my main focus here, stamped in Stazon and watercolored with reinkers. I used some First Edition DP for my main panel and a wee strip of Patterns DP for the top, adding a black punched embellishment and some Natural ribbon on which to mount my dyed Flower Trim.
A sentiment from Petite Pairs was stamped on my little banner and anchored with a black glimmer brad, and I also did a wee bit of embossing at the bottom with my Borders Scoring Plate:
Thanks for visiting today! Any questions---pop me an email!
Cassidy took advantage of the steps to make them into beds for her dolls:
That kid is always thinkin’!!!!
LOL Looks like her dolls are getting some tanning in. :) I love your take on the sketch. The little flag with the sentiment is awesome. Love the flowers too!
ReplyDeleteYour watercoloring is AMAZING! the card is so beautiful - great job going out of your box with Tangerine!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card - love your color choice and water coloring.
ReplyDeleteHahahaha! Yes it does look like the dolls are catching some sun! So cute! Your card is pretty and so springy looking! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHey LeAnne, just think how creative Cassidy will be when she is old enough to stamp. You have a new recruit coming. Darling FMS card and thanks for your comment on my blog.

ReplyDeleteVery pretty card. Love the colors. A great sketch.
ReplyDeleteCute photos of Cassady
Beautiful!!! Absolutely beautiful! I love that butterfly!!! Those flowers look fabulous orange!!! Wow! Maybe you can give me some colouring lessons when we're in PA in July!!!!
ReplyDeleteMy Goddaughters stayed over for a couple of nights and they were also playing outside and interestingly enough.....on the steps. The contrast though is in the fact that our steps are covered in deep snow and they made a slide out of them. The snow in the yard is Very Deep. They had a great time playing in it.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you decided to try Tangerine Tango......you certainly made a beautiful card using it.
Beautiful! Love the flowers.....and your watercoloring is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty card, LeAnne! I love the way you colored the butterfly and the flowers, and the ribbon adds a great natural touch. Thanks for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches this week!
ReplyDeleteLove that butterfly and the dyed flowers! Cassidy has a hospital going on there. Reminds me of playing nurse when I was little.
ReplyDeleteSoooo glad you stepped out of your comfort zone! Love the Tangerine Tango and that butterfly is just gorgeous.
