Happy Sunday, everyone! How about some nice spring colors from Ann for today’s Paper Players challenge?
I was excited to see these colors, but I must admit that it took me forever to complete this card! That just happens sometimes, I guess. Anyway, here it is:
I just received Blooming with Kindness, so I thought I would use the floral image as my focal point. Instead of just stamping the image, I heat embossed it with clear embossing powder on shimmery white paper and did some loose watercoloring with Primrose Petals ink to make it really stand out:
I added a couple of circular mats and mounted it on a piece of Comfort Café DP and embossed Very Vanilla. Some resin Dahlias and a sentiment from Fabulous Phrases complete my card. It uses the Seize the Birthday sketch from this week as well:
I hope you’ll hop over to the Paper Players blog to see what the other designers have come up with as well with these deep, saturated colors! You'll be happy you did when you see their wonderful creations!
Sometimes, playing just wears you out and you have to lay down:
Or you have to use a couple rolls of painter’s tape!!!
Love the color combination and that flower.
ReplyDeleteLove the way you used those Dalias. Such a nice balance of the challenge colors.
ReplyDeletePlaying can be such hard work. I know I often need to lay down after I work hard. Just wish it was as okay for grown-ups as it is for kids! LOL
Very pretty card! Love your technique with the Dahlia, LeAnne. I'll have to give that a try.
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous, LeAnne! I'll have to remember that technique with this gorgeous bloom. It's one of the prettiest I've seen! Love those little resin flowers too! Did you get a lot of snow?
ReplyDeleteOh wow, what a gorgeous flower! Love how the "loose" watercoloring adds so much dimension--what a great idea! Beautiful use of the colors....and Cassidy's approach to play cracks me up! Hope you're not under too much snow!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, LeAnne! I love the way you colored the flower! That stamp is so pretty and you gave it a different look that I love. Great take on the challenge!
