Happy Sunday, everyone! Are you ready to watch some football? I will forego the SB for my beloved Downton Abbey…..although we are so close to Baltimore, I am sure I will be cheering on the Ravens at some point during the day!
Nance is our hostess for the Paper Players today, and she wants us to make a sympathy card:
I had been playing around with some beautiful MME papers and they were still on my desk, so I paired them with a pretty Pink Paislee stamp set to make a soft, subtle sympathy card:
I stamped the collage images in More Mustard and Sahara Sand, and the sentiment from Blessings From Heaven in Primrose Petals. This also uses the CAS(E) This Sketch sketch #13 for this week:
Since I used this for yesterday’s card also, can you tell how much I love it?!!! My final little embellishment is a flower I made from some crepe paper, you know, the kind that comes in a roll and you hang it for party decorations? It was sitting a little bin at my local Habitat for Humanity thrift shop, so I snagged it, thinking I might find a use for it:
I used two sizes of Blossom Nesties and smooshed it all around a brad from my stash. Unfortunately, I DO need this card as our retired minister has passed away; he served the Lord right up until the very end, and I know his family is rejoicing as he is now with Him in heaven!
I hope the others’ cards will inspire you to create something for our Sympathy challenge….you can see them all at the Paper Players blog!
We are working on potty training with a fairly good success rate! Of course it helps if you are prepared for quick action:
Such a pretty, serene card. Very peaceful. I'm sure his family will love it. The muted tones and soft colors were a good fit for the challenge.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card. I have the hardest time with Sympathy cards and birthday cards for men so this is the perfect challenge.
ReplyDeleteYou've got such a beautiful stash of papers, Leanne. Love the way you combined these. Very pretty but subtle enough for a sympathy card.
ReplyDeleteWould it be horrible of me to say your rock the sympathy cards? I've unfortunately (only because I'm sorry you've needed them) seen you make a bunch and they're always so fantastic- lovely and thoughtful but not syrupy. I swear. It's MEANT to be a compliment! :) Good luck with the potty training!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, LeAnne! I love the crepe paper flower. The serene colors and gorgeous images will bring comfort to your minister's family for sure.
