Happy Tuesday, peeps! Time for another ColourQ challenge! Try this one on for size:
Mmmmhmmmm….who wouldn’t want to snuggle into this? Well, maybe my DH, but I sure would! I dug up an old Valentine stamp for my card this week:
I paper-pieced the hearts by stamping gingham images in the challenge colors, then stamping the image on top and cutting them out. The background was watercolored with Lucky Limeade, and I mounted it on a strip of Woodgrain-embossed Calypso Coral. Sentiment is from Delightful Dozen. My niece got married this weekend, a small ceremony, so this will be for her!
And as seems to be the norm for me lately, this is the second card I made, not really liking the first one. Don’t laugh:
I had these little birds already on my desk, so I colored them in with the challenge colors…no problem. The issue started when I mounted them on this way-too-busy BG paper from last year…..just a tad bit overkill. I persevered, though….perhaps someone won’t mind getting it as a Valentine’s card!!!!
I hope you’ll find some sweet inspiration from this delightful floral confection! Check out what the other designers did at the ColourQ blog, too….they’ll make you smile!
Playing with Grammy’s little turtles and birds…lining them up!
Great colors for your two cute Valentine cards LeAnne!
ReplyDeleteWell both of your cards are amazing LeAnne--as always! There is something so fun about lining up ornaments on a table!
ReplyDeleteAlthough I lean more to the CAS style, I love these birds and know several people who would love this card! I'm loving these colors. I've got a class this week though and need to get through that before I look at challenges. Rats!
ReplyDeleteI actually LOVE the bird card, LeAnne! What a fun way to use that embossed heart paper (I have so much of!). TFS!!
ReplyDeleteI actually LOVE that first card. there's something about that gingham heart on the green background that just appealed to me!
ReplyDeleteI like them both!!! Nice and bright and cheery. My Bella lines things up like that too - has since she was old enough to sit up and play. ~chris
ReplyDeleteAmazing cards as usual my friend ~ this has me running for the hills!!!! Maybe I'll try later this week! Love the little creatures Cassidy is playing with...and that desk....FABULOUS...I love antiques ~ have a super day LeAnne *hugs*
ReplyDeleteI'm not laughing! I seem to make 2 or 3 cards for challenges these days before I'm happy! LOL I love your CAS card! The repeated "love" background is really cute!
ReplyDeleteI love how Cassidy entertains herself with whatever is at hand! She's such a cutie and growing SO fast!!
I would never laugh because I seem to do the same thing myself! In fact, I think you're very brave to show us the ones you didn't like so much. I'm not sure I could ever do that. They both look fantastic by the way, proving once again, that we are our own worst critics!
ReplyDeleteBoth are great but I really love the first card.
ReplyDeleteSo sweet how Cassidy loves to like up everything. Really sweet!
I love the way Cassidy plays LeAnne - it reminds me of when my daughter was a little girl. Does she give everything names too?
ReplyDeleteI love the first card with that gorgeous strip of woodgrain and neatly placed sentiment and the second is gorgeous too in a much brighter busier way!
Wow what a tough Colour Q combo. I don't think I could pull them off at all. I actually really like your first card. You mastered these colours beautifully and you know me and my love for hearts. These are so pretty done in gingham.
ReplyDeleteSo fun to watch Cassidy play.....now I just wish I could "hear" her too;)
