Happy Sunday, everyone! Jaydee is our hostess this week at the Paper Players and she has a clean and simple sketch for us this week:
This time, I took Jaydee’s “CAS” challenge to heart, and made an absolutely simple card with her fabulous sketch:
This pretty paisley pattern from the Print Poetry pad in the mini was calling to me! It wasn’t until after I made my card that I realized the color in the paper was NOT Summer Starfruit, but more like Crumb Cake! (It’s been so dreary here, I’ll blame it on the lack of sunlight!) Well, I’m sticking to it, because this card is already in the mail to a friend who had a slight bicycle mishap when a truck collided with him! Yikes! He’s okay….a couple of broken ribs and some cuts and bruises….but I thought the collage image from Postage Due was perfect. I added a few more collage-y elements from the French Foliage set, a little sentiment and it was done!
Now, of course, my stamping instinct wanted to add more, so I did another card, stepping it up a bit:
I sponged the edges, added some postage stamps, and since everyone is posting videos of how to dye the pretty little flowers from the Artisan Embellishments Kit, I thought I would throw in my two cents---yes, you can dye the burlap ribbon TOO!!! I just daubered some Summer Starfruit ink right on the ribbon and voila! Colored burlap! I just love this effect…and now I have another get-well card in my stash! And THEN, I used the scraps from the projects and made a third little card:
I hope that you will find inspiration in this uber-easy sketch from the Paper Players this week! Pedal on over to the blog to see what the other designers created this week and share your creation with us too!
I’m telling you….this child does not need toys….she finds everyday objects fun to play with:
Don’t we all line up our batteries before eating our apple snack? LOL!!! Enjoy your day and thanks for visiting!
Wow, three cards in one sitting! I wish I could be that productive! I think I like the stepped-up version the best. The DSP is perfect with your stamped image, and the Summer Starfruit looks perfect! Oh, and I hope your friend is OK!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card and beautiful pictures of Cassidy.
ReplyDeleteLove your creations, LeAnne! Lots of tips in this post - especially "daubering" - who knew that was a word LOL!! Little Missy is getting solo big! I take that creativity as something she got from her grammy :) Have a great weekend xoxo
ReplyDeleteMy oh my, Miss LeAnne, you were on a roll with all 3 awesome cards! Love these colors and the simplicity of them! Thanks for the heads up about the burlap ribbon being dye-able! Love that idea! I'm sure your friend is really going to appreciate this terrific get well card! TFS
ReplyDeleteYou had mentioned Cassidy not needing any toys. Well, my little Dominic at 10 months old is the same way. He plays with anything & everything other than his toys that are at my house! Most things still go in his mouth from teething so I have to watch what he gets ahold of but, yes, they play with everything OTHER than toys! LOL Made me giggle!
Have a great day!!
Wow! I thought I liked the first card, then I saw the second and THEN I saw the third! You scored big today - they are all just lovely!!
ReplyDeleteWell, I absolutely love this card! Great color combo. I held off on getting that stamp, but I love it now.
ReplyDeleteLove the cards - great colors together! And I always love to see a card and then see it stepped up! Time for breakfast - but I need to line up my batteries first lolol
ReplyDeleteFantastic cards. Love the colors. I always line up my batteries before eating apples. :-)
ReplyDeleteAll beautiful cards LeAnne! The paper is gorgeous, adds such lovely texture. I always line up my batteries before having a snack!
ReplyDeleteSo that is how she get the energy to eat those snack you give her. LOL
ReplyDeleteLove love love your cards. That blue and yellow look great together.
So THAT'S where all Cassidy's energy comes from, LOL! Love your three-fer post, LeAnne. Each one is different but oh so fabulous. What a great tip on dying the burlap--can't wait to try it! ((hugs))
ReplyDeleteI love all three of the LeAnne! Postage Due is such a great set and you have made it even better! :-)
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, Cassidy is so cute! I love how she lined up the batteries! And your cards are fabulous! I love this color combination. This pattern paper is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteSo... I love the first one... but I LOVE the second one. Those little additions add a fabulous pop but do not detract at all from the CAS feel. However, your first and third are perfect for putting in the post! What a bonus showing three fabulous cards.
ReplyDeleteHugs
