Happy warm Wednesday! Gee whizzies, we are having some weird weather in SE PA this week! It is supposed to be in the 60s!!! I had a wee bit of stamping time yesterday and wanted to make a get well card for a friend from church who suffered a stroke over the weekend. He is only 59 years old----yikes, that is SCARY stuff! I hope they can find the cause; he is making good progress but he needs lots of prayers. I made a one-layer card for him:
I used the colors from Dynamic Duos, Crumb Cake and Soft Suede:
as well as the Less Is More sketch #8:
choosing a masking technique for my card. I first scored two sets of lines on my card, then added some post-it notes above and below them. I sponged the area with Crumb Cake ink, did some collage-style stamping in the same color, then removed the masks and stamped the tree and sentiment in Soft Suede:
Clean, simple, easy…..well, not so easy; it took me THREE tries to get this right! You know how things go sometimes!!! I added a sentiment and a Bible verse on the inside! I hope he likes it! This is also for The Kraft Journal’s Make it Monday, which is to use Northing but Kraft!
Some more Lotto!
What a fabulous effect the 'strip' gives. I love that collage stamping. Such a beautiful card. And that little Cassidy ~ she's scrumptious!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card, LeAnne! Love how you sponged then collage stamped the center and then added your tree in another color! Just fabulous and i'm sure the recipient will truely appreciate this! :)
ReplyDeleteOHMYGOSH - I am sooo casing this card. Love it. Third time's the charm - obviously!
ReplyDeleteAll you need is ink, stamps and paper - and the magic happens!
ReplyDeleteI really MUST get that Lovely As A Tree set. Great card using it along with the sketch and colour combo. I'm sure it will be greatly appreciated :)
ReplyDeleteI admire you one layer card so much.....that is such a challenge for me! I adore your masked area. The collage stamping adds a ton of interest! Thanks for sharing with us over at Dynamic Duos!

Gorgeous stamping LeAnne - what a stunning card, Jo x
ReplyDeleteWonderful man's card LeAnne! Love how you've layered the tree over that sponged and scored panel - so effective! Thanks for playing along with Dynamic Duos this week!
ReplyDeleteLeAnne, this is a beautiful CAS "Man" card! :-) That tree is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThis is so calming and serene, LeAnne! Cassidy is really into that Lotto game! Looks like it keeps her busy!
ReplyDeleteLeanne, we must be on some weird, mental telepathy thing or something. I had the idea of using the same set and get well/thinking of you sentiment for the dynamic duo challenge. I need a card for my cousin that was in a terrible car crash this past Sunday. I haven't had time to stamp it yet. Hope your church friend rehabilitates and comes back from his stroke.
ReplyDeleteWell this is just stunning! So lovely and so clean (I can only dream of getting a card this CAS!).
ReplyDeleteLeAnne, my friend, this is beautiful! I love the softness and the clean design. I finally got that stamp set last year and it has become a favorite very quickly. Perfect for so many occasions. Thank you so much for joining us this week at Dynamic Duos! :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a great card :) Viv xx
