Happy Tuesday, peeps! Boy, I don’t know what is wrong with me lately, I just can’t seem to maneuver my creativity into anything worthwhile! It takes me two tries just to get something close to what I like! Today’s creation is no different for the cute ColourQ challenge that Arielle has for us. Check it out:
Aren’t these little dudes cute? I had a bazillion ideas swirling around in my head and nothing was working! I think I had Live Nativity/rain cancellation/cookie & hot chocolate overload on my brain, LOL! This is my SECOND stab at this; it’s a little tag for a gift that I made for a local nursing home resident (we sponsor them at our Curves):
I had a little narrow scrap of Naturals White cardstock in my folder, I just scored & folded it in half and added bells in the challenge colors, then “strung” them along with some red embroidery floss! I added a simple sentiment and it’s all ready to attach to my package!
Now, here is the first attempt at using these colors:
A cute little Penny Black image, but there is just something about it that is lacking; I think adding the Lucky Limeade to the tree made me go “ick” instead of “wow”!!! I love Sage Shadow, too….one of my favorite colors, and I was so sad when it retired. I’ll still use the card, cuz I think this image is adorable!
Now….what can YOU create with these colors? All the design team samples are available to view on the ColourQ blog, and we’d sure love to see yours on there as well! Can’t wait! And remember, if you have any questions, just shoot me an email!
Over my busy weekend, my SIL gave my brother a surprise 50th birthday party. My dad drove the 2-hour ride up and hung out at my house (along with my sister who flew up from SC!) and while we were waiting, I made some sugar cookies. I decided to put him to work:
Although I believe whatever artistic talent I possess came from my dad’s genes, I doubt very much that his artistic escapades ever included decorating cookies! But he did a good job and they’re all ready to give out as gifts in the next couple of weeks! And Cassidy got in the act, “helping” me with wrapping:
Enjoy your day!
Ooooh, those colours are perfect for your cards. Love the bells :) This made me smile, mum and dad were over from England for a MONTH (which is why I haven't been around) so seeing your Dad decorating cookies put a smile on my face. Great work, as always and another adorable C photo! Emma xx
ReplyDeleteSeriously, I am in love with your cards. The first one has those amazing bells that I need to put on my want and find list and the second card has that amazing image. I can't believe you had trouble with either of them. I LOVE the color combination.
ReplyDeleteI always look at your cards first then read and I like them both. The bells were genius and the other card is really cute.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great picture of your dad. Do you keep you house cool?
The paper is big enough to wrap Cassidy up. So cute! This will be a fun Christmas with her.
How many cookies did you make?
So fun to see the family helping out. I love your card with the bells - what adorable die cuts(at least I think they're die cuts). I love how you have them hanging on the embroidery floss. Gorgeous CAS card.
ReplyDeleteI agree that the image on the second card is so cute and I like the snowflakes you stamped.
I have a card over at the May Arts "All that Glitters" challenge here: http://www.mayarts.com/blog/all-that-glitters-christmas-craft-challenge-entries-and-a-giveaway/ that I'd love for you to see (and maybe even comment on if you'd like). Thanks
Have a great day - hope you've recovered from your busy weekend.
Two great cards. That bell die is wonderful and I have always loved PB critters :) Great work on both. What a wonderful treat for your brother on his birthday too :) Glad you were all able to be together.
ReplyDeleteWonderful cards!!!
ReplyDeleteThe bells are so sweet!
Is that a die?
Would LOVE to know!
TFS!
So inspiring!
These are fantastic, LeAnne! Love love your use of the jingle bell dies!! So nice hearing from you today!!
ReplyDeleteawesome...love those bells!
ReplyDeleteLove that tag. It's got such a clean look and I love those jingle bells.
ReplyDeleteHA! You put on to paper exactly what I wanted to do, but I didn't have the bells! I just had to tell you you made "my thought" card excellent! :) LOL
ReplyDeleteI'd love to know more about the "bells" on your tag. Are they an embellishment you bought or is there a die or punch out there that I have missed???? :) It's a great tag!!!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love your first card! Where did you get that bell die/punch? I'm hoping it's a die rather than a punch!
ReplyDeleteHow adorable are the bells on your card, love the stringing of them as well. Love the card as well with the little scene, so cute.
ReplyDeleteI think these are both pretty fantastic. And I said "wow" when I saw the Lucky Limeade tree, definitely not "ick!"
ReplyDeleteAnd how nice that your family was able to be together to celebrate your brother's big day!
Such cute cards! I think they turned out great! LOVE the jingle bells - just adorable! Good job for putting your Dad to work, I'll bet he enjoyed it!
ReplyDeleteShanna :)
Loved every single picture in your post! Love those bells! And I love seeing your dad - how cute!
ReplyDeletethey are BOTH awesome! LOVE the second one, too:) Every time I see that LID bell doe, I am sorry that I bought a bell punch instead, this is SO much cuter! :)
ReplyDeleteI love your card with the bells. OMgosh so creative and great way to get in the colors. Love the way you threaded the. How fun to have your dad over for a while . I don't think my dad every helped with the baking…. He did everything else though. Love the way you take pictures of LIFE ! Take care
ReplyDeleteObviously getting caught up on my commenting here. :) Love those bells- so cute and simple! Great pix too! Love that your dad is into the cookies... and not just eating them. :)
ReplyDeleteI love both of these cards! Beautiful color palette! I love the picture of your dad putting sprinkles on the cookies too, precious!
ReplyDeleteLove your Jingle Bells tag!
