US172 Sympathy

DSCF6186

Happy Saturday!  The weatherman lied last night; he said today was going to be rainy, but it is absolutely beautiful here today—cool and sunny, so I plan to do some activities outside!  First, though, I had to make a sympathy card…a dear friend at church passed away suddenly, so this is for her family:

It uses the Unscripted Sketches sketch#172:

There was a piggyback color challenge, but I chose to keep to the neutral hues of this beautiful MME Be Amazing-Follow your Heart papers.  I used shades of Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand, and Going Gray, and SU’s Papaya Collage, Nature Walk, French Foliage, and Established Elegance for my images and a Papertrey sentiment:

An Our Daily Bread Bible verse for the inside:

If you have any questions, please send me an email!  And be sure to come back tomorrow for the Paper Players challenge!

I made Cassidy a mini cupcake for her birthday….she licked all the icing off and she was done!

That’s the best part anyway!  Enjoy your day!

  1. Your card is beautiful, LeAnne. The soft colors are so peaceful and serene. So sorry about the passing of your friend from church. Sympathy cards are always so tough to make but I'm sure her family will appreciate your card to remember their loved one.

Wow, cooler weather sounds AMAZING right about now. Another day in the 100's here today...boo! I think I'm going to follow Cassidy's lead and have a cupcake to go along with the heat. :)

  5. Lovely sympathy card LeAnne. I thought we were over the heat wave, but I just got in from the rugby field and I am as red as a tomato!

That's cute - licking the icing off - she is learning quickly;)

  8. Once more, I'm sorry you need a sympathy card but this is beautiful! As for the cupcake- that must be a little kid thing. I've seen SO many naked cupcakes left shivering on a table after a party. :)

  9. So sorry you needed to make a sympathy card but what a beauty you made! I think I would have to add a few more stampings to my usual 3 to describe this - wowza! And Miss C is a girl after my own heart!
