Squeaking in a RetroSketches card for this week…..you know when you have an idea in your head, but it doesn’t quite translate to the card!  Oh well!  I had fun making it anyway.  Here’s the sketch:

And here’s my birthday card:

Decorate a Daisy in Primrose Petals and Raspberry Ripple, along with some leaves of Lucky Limeade.  Sentiment is from Pennant Parade.  (I think the rhinestones were a mistake….. they just don’t “jive” with the feel of the daisy, as well as the fact that they don’t quite match.)

Well, have a great day!  My budding crafter:

  1. Well, I'm probably the wrong girl to ask about rhinestones, BUT I really do like them with this design. I think they work with the embossed polka dots and make the gingham more playful. Does that make sense? I've been up since 2am. Lol! What I'm trying to get at is that I really like it! Have a great day! Hugs! :)

  4. As always you're creations are gorgeous but I see what you mean about the rhinestones; I think I would have gone for the ones that are not colored...just my opinion, though. Loving the pictures of your budding card maker.

  5. I think your
card is pretty and as my friend always saus to me, "They don't have to match. They just have to go." And your green rhinestones go just fine.
    Cassidy is a doll.

  7. Wow this is gorgeous LeAnne. I love the pop of summery colour. That flower is really pretty. I love the little lines of gems hi-lighting the leaves.....very creative.
Yep, Cassidy is well on her way into the crafting/card-making world....so sweet.

  8. I think the card is gorgeous. I do see what you mean re: the rhinestones. I, too, would've used clear ones, and maybe a few less.

It is still a gorgeous card, no matter what. And little C. is adorable.

  9. LeAnne, I think the card is stunning. I think the rhinestones are fine because the flower really stands on its own and can take the competition of the rhinestones. I really think this is a WOW card.
