Hi everyone—I hope you all weathered the 4th of July and enjoyed your day! We watched some fireworks from our sailboat on Tuesday night and ate too much at my nephew’s picnic yesterday! But we had fun! Today’s card uses Jennifer’s sketch from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches:
as well as the colors from Stampin Royalty:
Since a certain someone in my circle of friends recently had a baby, I could not wait to ink up Storybook Friends!!!
The images were too big to use on their own and still fit on the panel, so after stamping them in Basic Gray ink, I punched each one out with a 1 1/4” circle punch and lightly watercolored them, then popped them up on a Baja Breeze panel embossed with the Fancy Fan EF:
Since all the sentiments are so stinkin’ cute and could be interchangeable, I cut them apart from their images and used the “yippee!” one for the front of the card, then added a sentiment from Friendly Phrases for the inside:
Enjoy your day! Here’s Cassidy, checking out her daddy’s pile of crab shells from the picnic yesterday….she was really more interested in the hammer! And her dessert, which you can see on her face!
Aw how sweet... and the cards as well! Love your colour palette!
ReplyDeleteAdorable card- great job with the colors! And the crabs... you're KILLIN' me!!! I'm a MD girl so that's my lifeblood there! :) Actually, we were up in MD this past weekend- I did my share of damage to the 1/2 bushel we got. SO glad it was to hot to go to the Orioles game or we wouldn't have had the chance to have them. :)
ReplyDeleteI love this set! Super cute card. :)
ReplyDeleteThese colors are wonderful! And I love that quacker in the middle - almost bought that stamp set just to get that guy! May have to yet!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet card for a baby LeAnne! It's just adorable! What a fabulous job on the colouring! It will be treasured! Thanks for joining us this week at Freshly Made Sketches!
ReplyDeleteYour card is darling! I love how you punched out the images! Thanks for playing with us at Freshly Made Sketches!
ReplyDeleteA 4th of July cutie pie for sure (chocolate and all). Your card is great LeAnne. Love the small images on the vertical panel. Great idea. Perfect for a baby card {wink}.
ReplyDeleteOh! I am soooo glad I just ordered these guys! How precious is this? Hope you had a great 4th, LeAnne! Ours was really quiet (and dark!) ;) but it was fine. We did the s'mores on the grill in the evening, the boys really enjoyed that. What a sweet card this is and you combined all the challenges beautifully :) Does Cassidy like crab? We love it here, but being as landlocked as we are, don't have it very often! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is precious, LeAnne! I popped over to FMS to see their sketch this week and your card jumped out at me first! I love how you punched out each darling critter! This color combo worked perfectly too!
ReplyDeleteLeAnne - LOVE this - adorable. I can barely wait for my stamp set to arrive. Wish I needed a baby card right away. The colors are wonderful. Thanks for sharing those CUTE pics of Cassidy. I can hardly believe how big she's getting.
ReplyDeleteHey Le Anne, very darling baby card you made. I love it and the design. I need to try to get in some of these pallet designs instead of just color ones. Thanks for your kind comments but I didn't think my card was anything special this time. Have a great day. Hugs, Bev
ReplyDeleteSoooo adorably CUTE!!! I love the color pallet and as usual your water coloring is amazing!
ReplyDeleteVery sweet card LeAnne. Love the way you did the inside too.
ReplyDeleteOh I remember those fresh crabs. Yum would I love to have some of those. Who went crabbing?
Oh how cute is this card, you do make the sweetest card LeAnne. Did Cassidy finish that whole plate of food? ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat a really cute card. Now I have to have that stamp set!
ReplyDeleteOh Geeze that is one darling card!! I didn't think I would use that set much even though it's darling. Might have changed my mind now - shame on you - LOL!!
ReplyDeleteI love this card LeAnne! Beautifully done! Those images are darling and I love how you colored them. An adorable sentiment too! Just perfect! Thanks for playing with us at Freshly Made Sketches!
ReplyDeleteI'm with Linda C on this. That little duck is just too cute. Really, you have enabled so many of us!! What great colors too. Glad to see you this week!
ReplyDeleteGreat card, I love the little animals and the paper you paired with it. Very cute.
ReplyDeleteOh so adorable LeAnne ... love the colour pallette and that sentiment is super cute ... love it!
ReplyDeleteYour card reminds me of an old-fashioned baby nursery with all the little farm animals. So sweet :) I love the color combination, too. Got to go pull those out and make a card.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet, sweet card! I love the card combination and how you just used a portion of the stamps. What a great way to give a new look to your stamps. TFS
ReplyDeleteI love the partially stamped images and the sweet colors! The two knotted ribbons are a great touch, too.
ReplyDeleteFun fun!! These colors are PERFECT for a little baby card! I never even noticed that super-cute stamp set in the catty - weird how it takes and awesome card to suddenly make it appear!
ReplyDeleteYour little animal card is so cute!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your win at FMS!!
