Summer Starfish

DSCF5054

I was able to squeak in some stamping time yesterday, in between cleaning and working, and I made a card for three challenges:  Our Creative Corner’s Buttons ‘n Burlap or Bows; The Kraft Journal’s Good Ole Summertime Make It Monday Challenge; and the iSpy Sketches sketch #20.  Here’s the iSpy sketch:

and here’s my “good ole’ summertime” card:

I used a Crumb Cake base; some papers from Pink Paislee’s Indigo Bleu line; stamps are retired SU Beautiful Beach and Lizzie Anne’s Shore Thoughts.  I added a burlap panel and some buttons; the starfish is sparkly, but you can’t see it from here!  If you have any questions, please shoot me an email!  Have a great day—stay cool!  It’s HOT here today!

  1. Love the card and the use of the burlap on it. I have a 12x12 sheet of it just waiting for me to cut into it.

  2. Great card LeAnne. Very summery. It is HOT here too. My grass is all brown. We need rain very badly. It is windy so that helps a little. The neighbor has a new pool and is gone all day. I just want to go and jump right in it. LOL
    Stay cool!

  4. Wonderful "good ole" summertime card. I love that burlap layer. That new ribbon is really pretty. Thanks for another picture of sweet Cassidy. I love the expression of her face.
BTW- could you send some of your heat this way? We are having strange weather. It's cool and cloudy and rainy --- for too many days now.

  6. Hello LeAnne
The splash of Yellow is like a ray of sunshine on your card and instantly gives you a warm feeling. Your Bg is busy and juxtaposes the Burlap so well to enhance the texture, and the scalloped border with your buttons adds the movement and dimension, sometimes it is lovely to see a card where there is minimalistic stamping; your sentiment is just right. A lovely card.
Thank you so very much for joining us this week at Our Creative Corner, we are so pleased to see your work once more.
    Smiles:)

  13. Sooo pretty, LeAnne! I've become a huge yellow fan this year and I just love it paired up with kraft. I think the burlap panel looks sensational and I love the combination of patterns and textures you've worked together here. Super take on the OCC challenge. So great to have you joining in the fun with us again this week at Our Creative Corner.

    Hugs,
