Happy Tuesday, peeps! Back to the work week! Arielle really challenged me today with this color/inspiration:
This looks exactly like a shirt my DD would wear; it’s her colors and style, but not really mine. I wracked my brain trying to come up with a floral image in my collection that would work with this. Alas, my vintage heart won over, and even though the girls at Retro Sketches really go for clean, modern lines, the little rebel in me chose their sketch:
to highlight my shabby collage-style creation:
And since it’s shabby, it also qualifies for this week’s Our Creative Corner challenge as well! Woohoo! I used a Crumb Cake base here, and my tag from Two Tags was cut from a page of Authentique’s Genuine Collection. I added some stamped florals in Bashful Blue on the tag, a sentiment in Night of Navy, and some vintage images on the card in Crumb Cake. All stamps are from Pink Paislee’s Spring Jubilee.
I dyed some seam binding in Rich Razzleberry for my shabby bow, corralled by an Antique Brad, and added a couple of little hearts:
This is going to a special friend as a sweet little thank you for something nice she did for me! Now I hope that you can find some inspiration from this modern image and colors, and share your creation over at the ColourQ blog. Your latest submissions have been fantastic, I’m telling you….it is getting harder to pick a winner each week! While you’re there, be sure to check out what all the other fabulous designers have stamped!!
If you remember on Mother’s Day, Cassidy wanted a pickle, but after tasting it, gave it back to me! She tried again, though:
Going,
going,
gone!!!
LeAnne I LOVE everything about this card! I don't think it's too fussy at all! The details are just right. The ribbon and lace are scrumptious!!! So glad you played RetroSketches this week! :)

ReplyDeleteThis is a classic! Love everything about it! Your heart just went pitter patter at the thought of stamping stamping stamping and you went for it! Your signature style for sure - gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteOh wow - now you know I love the vintage feel of this beauty. And you even put some hearts in there - you probably know by now how much I love hearts too;) Your use of the tag is wonderful and I love that scrunchy seam binding bow.
ReplyDeleteSo Cassidy now likes her pickles?? - how fun is that. She is such a sweetie.
I saw this at ColorQ and just had to come by and say GORGEOUS! The images are so pretty and the way you used the colors is stupendous!
ReplyDeleteHello LeAnne
ReplyDeleteI am pleased your vintage heart won out and you entered OCC Challenge, otherwise I would not have seen this gorgeous creation. The bow is a real eye catcher and it sets everything in motion; the antique button, textured heart, butterfly and doily, just wonderful.
Smiles:)

oh, it's SUCH a pretty shabby card, too! LOVE the textured heart and that wonderful bow:)... I think i need a tutorial on those wrinkly bows, mine NEVER look right. I also LOVE your sketch at PP this week! Such a good one! Will try and make it happen:) See, Cassidy likes pickles! If I remember, she liked lemons, too? My middle son was like that, would give him something to taste, would be sure he would not like it, and he would love it! :)
ReplyDeleteI love this color combo and your gorgeous card! I like the tag on kraft with a touch of lace!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the fav on my Christmas card too BTW - that made my day :)
