Hey everyone, it's almost the WEEKEND! Woohoo! I received my Simply Scored diagonal plate yesterday and wanted to make a quick sample to show my club girls tonight. The CardPatterns sketch 154 was perfect for the little scored piece I made! Here's the sketch:
It's fairly easy to use and will be great for making custom envelopes, if you're into that sort of coordinating thing! I loved stamping all the little flowers from Fresh Vintage in the little boxes; I used Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade and Baja Breeze ink on this card to match the Everyday Enchantment SAB designer paper. I ruffled a little bit of Baja Breeze seam binding ribbon and added a flower and matching brad. Sweet!
I saw on someone's blog how they put their kid's lunch in the little compartments of a muffin tin, and the kids loved it! I thought it was a great idea and I had a silicone tin I wasn't using, so I tried it on Cassidy. She was quite upset at first because she wanted to dump it all out:
But then she warmed up to the idea and she liked it!
Thanks for visiting today!
I love the card and the scoring is gorgeous! I'm with Cassidy...I don't handle change easily. Glad she liked it in the end, though!
ReplyDeleteThat tin is the ultimate for folks that don't like their foods touching!! Clever idea :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your scored card! Made me think of a cozy quilt...with springtime colors. Perfect!!!
Have a great weekend xoxo
Beautiful card- the embossing is fantastic here and the colors are wonderful- bright and cheery! As for Cassidy, ahhh.... drama drama little llama! :)
ReplyDeleteI just LOVE this scored card with the festive colors! And you might have started something Cassidy will insist on doing since it's so much fun :) I think that's the first photo I've seen of her crying ;)
ReplyDeleteI like your "quilted" card!! That Cassidy is a hoot -- you are going to have to take all of your blog posts and make her a book one of these days!
ReplyDeletebeautiful card LeAnne! Love the scoring on it.
ReplyDeleteCassidy really did get upset with her new "plate". And you captured the moment perfectly.
This is a darling card! I love what you did with the seam binding. Great idea.
ReplyDeleteThe pictures of Cassidy are GREAT! She does bounce back quickly. So adorable. I love the hippos that hold her chair on the table. They made me giggle.
Beautiful card LeAnne! Love everything about it!
ReplyDeleteCan't believe how big Cassidy is getting!
Some people just really hate change. Really like what you did with the small Sale-a-bration stamp. Very cool!!
ReplyDeleteLove this card LeAnne!!!! Can't wait to play in my room tomorrow...in the mean time...I'm knitting...more orders have come in! Cassidy ~ you are so adorable even when you're not happy ~ have a fabulous weekend my friend ;-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card LeAnne! Glad Cassidy took to your little fun idea - Maisie loves dumping whatever she doesn't smear on herself and in her hair - LOL!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, LeAnne! Love the scoring and the colors are just perfect for the spring that is just around the corner. :) Although my yard would beg to differ since my hardy hibiscus is already showing new shoots. Yikes!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea about the muffin tin - I will have to pass that along to my mom to try with my almost 2.5 year old nephew.
As a pediatric occupational therapist, I love love love the idea of using a muffin tin for lunch! It really promotes fine motor skill development! During therapy, I put tiny little objects in ice cube trays for the same reason. Kids love to reach in for a little bead to put on a string.
ReplyDeleteAnd I don't want to forget...your card is beautiful!
Awe - I think this is the first time I've seen Cassidy cry! Love the card with the new scoring tool, you placed the tiny flowers PERFECTLY!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card! Thanks for joining us at Card Patterns this week!
ReplyDeleteAw poor Cassidy - I don't like to see her cry - so glad she ended up liking the fun idea for her lunch.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card. The flowers stamped in the diamonds look great. I love your ribbon treatment.
Love this one, LeAnne! The scoring, the colors, the scrunchy ribbon...it's all fabulous together! I especially like the way you matted the sentiment oval.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun idea to serve lunch in the muffin tin! She looks like she got the over her frownies pretty quickly, which is a good thing. So cute! :)
OhMyGosh!!! Soooo cute! I love the scoring!! It reminds me of tiles! Such a great springtime card! LOVE IT!
