I was excited to see the 100th challenge on the Pals Paper Arts blog---I have been following them regularly, and their design team is superb! I had this card made for another challenge, but never posted it, so I thought it would be fun to do for their “magnifique technique” challenge! I first saw the Delft tile technique on SCS here. I changed mine a tiny little bit by embossing the whole image that had been stamped with Vintage Vogue. Let me know what you think:
Here is a closeup of the “tiles” with the clear embossing:
Almost looks like real tile, doesn’t it? I didn’t want to detract from the image itself, so I left my Curly Cute sentiment and embellishments fairly simple. Thanks for visiting today!
Oh boy, Grammy’s craft room will never be the same again!
Wee Details:
- Stamps: Vintage Vogue, Curly Cute
- Paper: Very Vanilla
- Ink: Marina Mist, Crumb Cake, Versamark
- Acc: Scorer, Clear Embossing Powder, Narrow Grosgrain Ribbon, Button, Sponges
LeAnne very pretty card. I have done this but never did the clear emboss powder. So cool. AND how it could distract from the main image..... that adorable little grandbaby...of course!
ReplyDeleteMine are coming to visit this weekend! Yippee. Hugs.
gorgeous! looks just like tiles!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely - I have never seen it done and I love it! I think you will soon have to set up a separate craft desk for some little cutie :)
ReplyDeleteThat "tile" really looks like tile. I love it!!!
ReplyDeleteLove your card. I've never tried the embossing over the "tiles", -never thought of it, but it should have been a "given". I so enjoy your granddaughter's pictures (my youngest is just a little older)--keeps you busy,I'm sure, but what a joy and a blessing! I just chuckle seeing her expressions.
ReplyDeleteWow it really does look like tile. Great idea.
ReplyDeleteOh the pictures are going to be good now. And think you will have a reason to why your craft room is messy. LOL
Oh my word! As a Kitchen & Bath Designer why haven't I tried this yet! I love the Delft!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by my blog and leaving your kind comments LeAnne! Hugs!
Love this technique! Super card.
ReplyDeleteLeAnne, I love the look of your tiles. Neat technique. just perfect with the scoring. Hope I get time to try it out. TFS today!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous LeAnne!
ReplyDeleteLove the tiles! Great pattern you created too :) I had to giggle at your grand daughter getting into things as it brought back a LOT of memories of my son. He had an endless curiosity and got into everything (not to mention having to put it all in his mouth too!)
ReplyDeleteLove this look, LeAnne! It does look like tiles. Have you placed your first order? I finished my order while watching the tennis semi's. Looks like you little gd is so sweet. Mine is a rounder(from the beginning, a second). Colin the first, was so good and so much fun(still is). Colin has always been so good in my craft room and anywhere else for that matter. Just tell her no firmly, but nicely and she will be OK.
ReplyDeleteThat is REALLY pretty, LeAnne! Love how that looks so real!
ReplyDeleteI want some designer paper in the same pattern as Cassidy's cute lil' top!
Beautiful card-love your technique. What a difference a week has made for Cassidy-they grow way too fast!!
ReplyDeleteOh this is beautiful. I love the tile!!! I was wondering what you would do. You did good!!!! Can't wait to try that. Hugs,
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely technique! I love that you embosed the whole thing. Go hug that busy little Cassidy for me!

ReplyDeleteVery pretty! Thank you for playing along with Pals Paper Arts this week.
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty! I love how you embossed the image to make it look like real tiles. I will have to try this.
ReplyDeleteAwesome technique, especially with that stamp set! I have to give this a try, for sure! Uh oh, looks like you may have a future stamper on your hands. Hee hee! :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card. I love this technique. I'll have to look through my stamps and see what I have that will work as I don't own any background stamps.
