A dear family friend passed away on Sunday; she and her husband were friends with my parents, and as children, we shared many happy times together. I sat down on this dreary morning to make a couple sympathy cards.
I used Watercolor Trio for both cards. The first one uses a sketch from Stamping 411:
I used my Watercolor Crayons and directly colored the stamp, then spritzed it lightly with water and stamped on to Watercolor Paper. Simple, but very sweet. Here’s the inside:
The next one uses markers for directly coloring on the stamp. This is a case from this card by Mary Fish:
I did not put many embellishments on the card and just let the image and sentiment be the focal points. Finally, here’s a view of what my little Pumpkin has been spending her day doing:
A perfect way to spend a rainy day----I think I might just do the same! Thanks for visiting---remember to come back tomorrow! And thank you so much for all the kind comments you make about my creations—they mean so much to me!

ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards, LeAnne! I know they will bring comfort to the recipients. I'd love to be doing what Pumpkin is doing--I'm sure my cats are doing the same thing!
ReplyDeleteWonderful and comforting cards, both of them. I'm sure they will bring solace to their recipients. I really think that Pumpkin has the right idea! ~chris
ReplyDeleteSo very nice cards ,LeAnne. And the new look of blog is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI can see that Pumpkin is having the same activity than my "baby" here on my side of the Atlantic.

Both are wonderful cards - I'm just sorry you needed to use one. Because of your good memories of your friends, they'll live on. Blessings
ReplyDeleteI know your beautiful cards will be a source of comfort. Sorry for your loss.
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty cards. I am sorry for your loss.

Both are beautiful cards-love the trio and the tres chic background. I worked outside about all day in the back yard with my border collie as my helper. The 'cat' stays out front and they get along fine-I never see her in the back yard-both outdoor animals. The 'cat' was a 'gift' from my daughter who had too many cats! ;>)
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear about your friend. These cards are so beautiful I'm sure they will bring comfort. I hope they gave you some comfort making them.
ReplyDeletePumpkin and my Max spend their days doing they same thing. He is going to teach me how to live life after I retire.
Making sympathy cards is never easy to do, but you created 2 beautiful cards! I love the soft watercolor look of the flowers and the inside is just as pretty. Pumpkin has the right idea for a rainy day.....catch up on some major ZZzz's!!
ReplyDeleteSo very beautiful as always!
ReplyDeleteThese are simply stunning!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards, LeAnne! Hey, have you seen the pictures I posted on Facebook? I have a boyfriend for Pumpkin at my house!
ReplyDeleteWhat soft & beautiful cards you've made, love them both. I'm sure they'll be really appreciated.
