Browsing about blogs, I found a new (to me) challenge: Just Add Ink. I am sure it’s been around, I just never checked it out! This week it’s a color challenge:
I needed a masculine get well card for our retired minister, and after seeing this card on SCS (thanks, Colleen, and I hope you all can see it), I decided to CASE her card and use these colors:
I was too lazy to look for some Kiwi Kiss paper, so I went with Old Olive; I didn’t emboss the tree from Lovely as a Tree, but stamped off once, then added a sentiment from ODBD. I added a jumbo brad and eyelet for an additional “masculine” touch. All the DPs are SU’s Sweet Pea. Although I rarely see my pastor since his retirement, when I do see him, he always comments how much he enjoys my cards, so I hope he enjoys this one too. Edited to add: this qualifies for the ODBD challenge to use brads!
And since I am on a tree theme here, here are two lovely cards I received back in February, both using trees. This is from my friend Kathy:
And this one is from my friend Robyn:
Both meant a lot to our family. Thanks, ladies!
It is a gray dreary day here in PA, I think I will go take a nap and hope my sinuses clear up! Hope all is well in your neck of the woods and you’re having a wonderful day!
This card is beautiful and verse really hits me today as I'm trying to figure out what the heck is going on here at home. Things are crazy and it seems everyone is mad at me today :)
ReplyDeleteI really like this card LeAnne - great design!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, LeAnne! I am glad you found my blog so I could find yours! And it's pretty cool that we both live in West Grove! Could be the start of something great! LOL I actually live between Oxford and West Grove. You? Anyhoo, to answer your question about birds...I see bluebirds every day at my house but an Oriole only once in awhile. Birds are a blast to watch in the birdbath!
ReplyDeleteWOW, LeAnne, I love this card!!! The colors are awesome and the way you've out the tree behind the scripture...so stunning!!! Hope you are feeling better soon!! Hugs and blessings, Sabrina
ReplyDeleteLovely, Lovely, Lovely! These are beautiful! When I was little I told everyone I use to be a tree. LOL I love trees.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards! LOVE that tree stamp! :)
ReplyDeleteFabulous! What a great color combo. Love your mix of DSP. So cool how you stamped the verse image over the tree image. When I grow up I wanna be a stampin' queen just like you. :)
ReplyDeleteLove those sweet pea papers! Your pastor will LOVE his card. It's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThat color combo is gorgeous, and I love how you combined the two stamp sets for a lovely design!
ReplyDeleteWhat a LOVELY card. Fantastic use of colour. A pitty you missed the tie frame on the east coast. I seriously think you would have been a contender for TOP5. You get my vote even if the challenge has finished. I appreciate you sharing it all the same. THANKS
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful card, LeAnne! It's a shame you missed the cut off for Just Add Ink. Our challenges end at 11.59pm WST (Perth Australia) every Wednesday. Hope to see you back soon!

ReplyDeleteGorgeous colors, patterns, and design LeAnne! Love the tree behind the verse...perfect for what the scripture says. Thanks so much for playing Stamping In Time!
ReplyDeleteAWESOME masculine card, LeAnne! I tend to get away from masculine cards altogether after a while, so it's nice to find inspiration like this! Those patterned papers are perfect and I love the layout you used!!
