This week it is my turn to be the hostess for the CTD!! I chose these colors quickly, thinking they would be pretty together---but they really challenged me! Hopefully, the CTD team wasn't stumped by the combo, because they rose to the challenge with some beautiful creations!
I have a special friend who is going through a rough time right now, so I wanted to send her a card letting her know I was thinking of and praying for her. I love this willow tree image from Waltzingmouse, so I inked it up and went forward from there:
This card is a little larger than a standard card as I found some nice larger envelopes at a yard sale this summer! The image is stamped on Confetti white with Garden Green and Chocolate Chip; the RR panel is wheeled with the Friendly Words jumbo wheel and RR ink, and although it is hard to see, the card itself is wheeled with the Cornelli Lace jumbo wheel. The sentiment was too long for the card, so I cut it apart, stamped the word "Mindful" once on my scratch paper and then on my oval, and stamped the remaining portion full strength. I like that effect! I added a half circle scallop behind the circular image and some pearls for a soft effect. Here's the inside as well:
I hope this will bring her some cheer and comfort!
Check out the CTD blog for details on how you can participate in this challenge too! And here are the members of the other team---go check out their creations and give them some love!

ReplyDeleteYou know, I WAS stumped by these colors initially, but after I scrapped my first attempt, I didn't have any trouble putting my card together. I just needed to embrace the colors for them to really work for me, and now I love them! (even though I swapped my green's for PTI's greens)
ReplyDeleteYour card is beautiful, LeAnne! I love that weeping willow tree and how you framed it with the half scalloped circle and ribbon tab. I also like how you stamped your sentiment...that IS a cool effect ;]

ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, image and sentiment, LeAnne! Love all the pearls, and I LOVE that Cornell lace background, too! My Mom used to do something like that when she decorated cakes, and I always likes how all those squiggly lines looked! I might have to look into getting that wheel!
