Wow, the JUGS girls are on their 10th week! I love the varied challenges they give us, and this week Pam has given us a sketch:
I could just keep making Christmas cards forever, but my brother's birthday is coming up, so I thought I could use this sketch for his card:
Since he is a real Mr-Fixit kind of guy, I thought these images from SU's Totally Tools would be fun! It uses several different Cosmo Cricket papers from Nutmeg and Early Bird as well as some "hardware" and a piece of cord from a spool my DH bought at a yard sale for a quarter:
And here's an inside view....I should have used my trusty SAMJ to line up the saw image a little better:
I think he'll still appreciate it!
And this is the view from our window today:
I know a lot of you have had snow already, but in SE PA, we don't usually get any this early! It's just lovely! Enjoy your day!
Hi LeAnne,
ReplyDeleteWOW! Snow!! We have a bright and sunny day here today but a little snow would be lovely. Love your take on the JUGS sketch...that is one stamp set I want to get...add it to my list!!! Have a fun day stamping today!
Lesley :)
LOVE this card, LeAnne! I'll be adding this to the CASE file for sure. Always want great ideas for MAN cards! LOL!
ReplyDeleteThe view outside my window is the same today! Love that we have snow this early! My dd has already made a snowman!
Have a snuggly day!
Cute masculine card. I need that tool stamp set to make cards for my hubby.
ReplyDeleteWe have sun today but snow tomorrow. I am in Iowa. It is coming! Can't wait.
Great card for your brother! It's totally masculine and he'll love it!
ReplyDeleteAt this later hour, I'm looking at a couple inches of snow and it's really laying heavily now! Not to worry, tomorrow it will all melt with warmer temps! Enjoy your weekend:)
Great card! I just posted some snow pics on my blogs, too--great minds do think alike (lol)!
ReplyDeleteAhhhhh!! LeAnne this is such a perfect card for your Mr. fix-it brother! I love how you used the sketch and that you went green and used some "thread" from a spool your husband bought at a garage sale for a quarter! How awesome and what a perfect accent for the main images ;] Love how your card turned out! I'm always looking for "masculine card" inspiration.
ReplyDeleteIt's snowing here today also. Crazy to think we were both out and about with just a sweater yesterday evening without a care...and today, snow and sleet everwhere I look!
It was great seeing you last night. Thanks so much for coming to hang out for a while at Tia's meet :)
I love this!
ReplyDeleteThis is the most original look I have seen with this set {which I loved, but could not figure out how I would use it}
Totally love what you have done here.
Lovely card and thanks for the pics of the snow. I moved to GA from NY this year and unless we have another freak snowstorm here like they did last year, I'll only see it in pictures.
ReplyDeleteLeAnne - I love this card - so special that you are incorporating your brother's hobbies in your card to him. The "hardware" is perfect and i love the woodgrain DP. Thanks SO MUCH for playing along with Just Us Girls again. We love seeing some “regulars” come back each week! I hope that means you are having fun and are inspired! We’d love to see you again on Saturday for our next challenge!
ReplyDeleteYIKES snow!!! Looks dreamy - I am just happy that I don't have to shovel it :) What a great masculine card! Your brother is going to adore this one-you did a great job with Pam's sketch! Thanks for playing along with Just Us Girls!

ReplyDeletehi LeAnne we got snow over night too, only a little.... hardly anything to worry about but so beautiful in the sunlight this morning. Just perfect....now if it would just go away after Christmas and spring would arrive I'd be happy!!! Have a great afternoon, ~Donna
