I haven't done the color challenge at SCS for a while, and while I should be doing lots of other things, I took a break and decided to play. CC241 uses Bravo Burgundy, Cameo Coral, Very Vanilla and Always Artichoke if you want. I pulled out Fast & Fun Notes, which I haven't used in a looong time! I watercolored the image very loosely in the challenge colors and highlighted my flowers with a white gel pen. It is a beautiful sunny day here in PA, so I photographed my card outside. Can you see the little bug that landed on my card?:
If you can't see it, that's good! He is a little itty bitty speck there above the flower. Anyway, I used another long-lost set, Fresh Cuts for my Cameo panel (stamped in Craft White) and the sentiment stamped in Always Artichoke. I added a little brad from VV HPH as well as a little ribbon. The Artichoke panel is a little paisley piece from To the Nines. This also uses Fall to Layout#64 from the Clean & Simple blog:
Thanks for visiting today---now I am off to work the blood drive at church. Stop back tomorrow for the Color Throwdown challenge as well as the Diva Coffee Break Designs challenge! And here are a few little treats my from around my house & porch (I am so bad, I rarely water this Christmas cactus, and all of a sudden I realized it had blooms.....I so do not have my father's farmer genes!):
These are roses from one of the bridesmaid's bouquets that my daughter made last weekend for her cousin's wedding....my sister & I DROPPED the box they were in and these broke off.....ooops. So we "saved" them in my sundial birdbath! My daughter was NOT pleased. (But they never knew!)
Looks like Autumn is BOUNTIFUL around your palace! Gorgeous flowers and those roses ~ holy COLOR CHALLENGE! Card inspiration RIGHT THERE! Hello! Tee heee
ReplyDeleteYes, I see the little bug, but if you hadn't said anything, I would have thought it was right here on my computer screen! Good thing, it's not obstructing the view of your fun and wonderful created card! Such a sweet, cute and inspiring card! You NEVER cease to inspire! Love it!
fabulous blooms and a fabulous card! Love that cameo coral strip, I thought it was dsp
ReplyDeleteThis is one of those wonderful "feel good warm and fuzzy" cards - just makes ya happy to see it. Thx also for sharing your flowers - they're beautiful.

The card is lovely and the Christmas cactus is beautiful. Mine do not have any buds this year, so I don't think it will bloom.

OMGosh, LeAnne, your card is so sweet, love that image!!! I can't believe how gorgeous your Christmas Cactus is. My Mom, back in Germany had tons of them and it was so breathtaking when all of them bloomed.I wonder if one of those would do good in the AZ heat? Love that African Violet too and don't let me forget those beautiful colored roses. Great use for those break offs ;D.
ReplyDeleteYour card is adorable, and I LOVE your photos!! Wow, that Christmas cactus is gorgeous!
ReplyDelete...it WAS really nice today....and did you hear that tomorrow it's supposed to go up in the 70's??!! WOWZA! What a difference from Saturday and Sunday.
LeAnne,
ReplyDeleteLove the gorgeous colour combo...I might attempt that tonight!!! Thanks for the inspiration. I have also been eyeing up that sketch too!!!

Such a sweet card, LeAnne!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, LeAnne! You rocked those colors! And the Christmas cactus is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip on your Christmas Cactus to get it blooming. I think we water ours to much at work, and if keeping it on the dryer side works, because yours is GORGEOUS!!! :)
ReplyDeleteFantastic card too... Have a super weekend! :)
