Funky Sketchy

DSCF4982

I have decided that I cannot stamp when my husband is around, which is mostly on the weekends.  He never says anything, but I feel guilty, like I should be doing other things.  So this is a guiltily-stamped card so that I can fulfill my stamping fetish and now go and do something else like shred zucchini.

There is a new sketch site, Get Sketchy, and my blogging friend Ann is on their team, which makes me happy, and Ann's cards make me happy, but I noticed that most of the samples are a little more "funky" that what I normally make.  I guess it is because I am getting older and my style is more "fuddy" than  "funky" (can you tell I am in a slightly-not-so-good mood? sorry). So this card was a little stretch for me, although I love the bright colors and the sentiment from my friend Caryl, I just never quite know how to put everything together.  But together it is and hopefully someone will find it fun.  Here is the sketch:

GS 1

and here is my big sketchy card:

This is a square 5 1/2" card, Pretty in Pink; assorted BG and other scraps from my stash; Kiwi Kiss, some fun funky felt sticky flowers from Simon Says Stamp/Hero Arts, some SU Old Olive ribbon and some rickrack also from my stash.  Sentiment is Inkadinkado's Friendly Advice.  Thanks for visiting---off I go to the zucchini patch!

  5. This card is great! I think it looks funky...although I think my daughter just told me I'm getting to be a fuddy! If you need something to do with that zucchini, I just tried this recipe last weekend and the family LOVED it! They all thought it was an apple recipe! http://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/Zucchini-Cobbler

  6. ha! I know exactly what you mean about stamping when hubby is around!! I always like to get him settled in at the computer and then I figure I can putter in the stamp room to my heart's content!!

  7. I had to add that I understand about not wanting to do something when the DH is home.
I don't clean the house when DH is around. Either I feel like a maid or he decides to help and makes a fast clean up into a deep cleaning project.

  15. Oh I love it LeAnne! I can tell you are out of your comfort zone because it's not your normal style but it is definitely a great card. Love the ricrak!

I'm with you on the husband thing...I tend to rush through cards when I know he's upstairs waiting, and am sometimes smiling when he leaves for work so I can stamp guilt free!

  18. Love this card, LeAnne!! Definitely funky, absolutely no sign of fuddy! I had to chuckle when you mentioned your husband's presence making you feel guilty... I know EXACTLY what you mean. I doubt they feel guilty sitting in front of the TV watching sports, though LOL!

I know about guilty card making...that's definitely why I don't post everyday! But I wish I was shredding zucchini, sigh. Can I come over for some? Yum!
