I love challenges, but unfortunately, just don't get to do them all! I did get to do the OCC challenge as well as Sharon's Stamp Simply challenge #69, which ALSO qualifies for the OCC challenge! A double-header!
The OCC challenge was to make a card using two blues. I love blue! Unfortunately, it is not one of the most popular colors this season, so I haven't used it as much as I normally would. My first card uses an image that Peanutbee stamped for me, so I decided to use it for a baby card. I loosely used Fall to Layout #23, DP from a retired Hostess Prints Pack in Bashful Blue and stamped the sentiment in Ballet Blue. I used Stickles for the bubbles and to glue on my dew drops, so there is an additional little glitter!
- Stamps: Nursery Necessities, Baby (RAK)
- Paper: WW, Barely Banana, Bashful Blue, Prints DP
- Ink: Black, Ballet Blue
- Acc: MS Punch, Dew Drops, Markers, Blender Pens, Stickles, Gingham Ribbon
The Stamp Simply challenge was to make a winter card....I tried not to use a snowflake or snowman, but there is a little bit of snow there! This layout is from one of my sidelines, Janice Lucas---she demo'ed this masked card at one of our meetings, and I loved it. Can you believe I have been a demo for six years and still didn't have this stamp set? I broke down when I was sure it would still be in the catalog for another season! It uses two blues also, Not Quite Navy and Baja Breeze:
This was a really simple, easy card--perfect for "stamping simply"!! I stamped the image inside an oval mask, sponged the skyline with Baja Breeze, then removed the mask and stamped the larger tree and sentiment in Not Quite Navy. The Shimmery White panel is mounted on a Baja Breeze card. I added some MS snow glitter I got ON SALE yesterday! A white organdy bow finished it off.
- Stamps: Lovely as a Tree, Winter Schminter (Whippersnapper)
- Paper: Baja Breeze, Shimmery White
- Ink: Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy
- Acc: MS Glitter, Glue Pen, Nesties, Sponge, Organdy Ribbon
LeAnne, they are both stunning!!! I LOVE the baby boy card -- it is so soft and adorable and your tree winter scene is fabulous!!! I, too, have never purchased Lovely as a Tree and I often wonder why I haven't. It must be one of SU's most popular sets ever, or at least most long-lived -- LOL!!!
