RRCB183 You Make Each Day Brighter

Happy Tuesday, peeps, time for a new Retro Rubber challenge! This week it's "Anything Goes"--just use any stamps that are at least a year old!

I chose a stamp called Friendship Grows from 2001---21 years old!  I have always loved these sketchy-style images; they're cute and fun to color in!  So here we go:

I stamped the image in Stazon and watercolored it with lots of different inks, then diecut it and mounted it on a gingham panel that was diecut with the Stitched With Whimsy die and added a banner and a little crinkly seam binding bow.  Here's a little closeup:

I hope you'll play with our Retro Rubber challenge this week...just remember, stamps over a year old and tell us the approximate age!  We love giving our older stamps some love.  Check out what the other DT members created as well at the Retro Rubber blog!

I have dreaded telling my readers of this sad news, but in a community where we lift each other up, I think it's okay to share that my son-in-law Wayne lost his sweet stepdaughter (from a previous marriage) last week; she was only 24 and our hearts are broken.  In fact, the sentiment on this card would be appropriate for her, as she always brought bright sunshine and laughter to everyone around her.  Obviously, Wayne, Dana and Cassidy are grieving and holding each other up as they mourn her and yet, still have moments of laughter amid the tears.  We will miss you, sweet Ganae.

Hold your loved ones close and be blessed today.

"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble." Psalm 46:1

  9. I love these vintage images that so remind me of how good life was not that long ago! I'm loving that gingham too! On a sad note, I'm so sorry for your loss. Life passes too quickly and we've lost more loved ones this year than we ever thought we would, so I agree. Hold your loved ones a little tighter and tell them you love them while you can. Losing Ganae at such a young age is difficult for all of you. Big hugs
