PP492 Sympathy Sketch

Happy Sunday, peeps....it doesn't feel much like Memorial Day weekend, does it?  Maybe some of you are beginning to venture out and do more things!  Let's hope so!  We are still hunkering down here, not much going on!  I am the hostess this week for the Paper Players this week, and I came up with this sketch:

I am trying to use up some retiring products, and unfortunately, I needed a sympathy card, so this is what I came up with using Garden Lane DSP and Botanical Tags dies:

I created some borders with Garden Green and Mint Macaron cardstocks, then diecut the bird tag from another piece of Garden Green.  To soften it a bit, I added some vellum behind the diecut and accented it with a pearl:

For the sentiment, I took the "Hugs Prayers Love" stamp from Positive Thoughts and taped off the upper and lower words, inked it up in Garden Green and stamped it (after removing the tape!) to create the "Prayer" banner, adding some pearls there too:

Finally, on the inside, I stamped a verse from Verve along with the feather from Positive Thoughts:

I hope the recipient will find comfort from it.  Now, how will you interpret this sketch?  I hope that you will play along with our challenge this week and share your card with us at the Paper Players blog!  Check out what the design team has created while you're there as well!

This weekend we were supposed to be watching my nephew graduate from West Point, but obviously, those plans changed!  My sister in SC just sent me these photos.....my great-nephews are visiting my sister and her family; here they are with my nephew Will, first Jameson:

and Sawyer!

They're having a blast!  Enjoy your day and thanks for popping in!

  1. It's such a peaceful card. All my Garden Lane is GONE! The boys are a handsome lot! Yes, indeed, it's a strange Memorial Day.

  3. I love the papers you've chosen, LeAnne - you've beautifully captured the solemnity of the occasion... sure to bring comfort.
I'm so sorry you'll not be going to West Point for your nephew's graduation. Springtime in the Hudson Highlands is gorgeous, and so is the West Point campus... I lived about 4 miles from there when I lived in NY!
