FF185 and LIM415 Birthday

Happy Monday, peeps!  Hope you are all safe and sound wherever you are!  I am thankful for my computer and phone, since they closed all the libraries....I guess I will be reading ebooks for a while! And crafting, of course!  I made a card over the weekend using the sketch from Fab Friday and the color palette from Less Is More:

I decided to pull out some Altenew layered florals....I struggle with these stamps, even though I see others who create beautiful images with them, mine don't always look so good!  Anyway, I stamped the main flower in Primrose Petals (ret), then the darker layer in Merry Merlot, and the foliage in Smoky Slate.  Here we go:

I masked the main floral and stamped smaller ones behind it, leaving off the outline image for a softer look; I also added some speckles and gray sequins:

I embossed a Smoky Slate card with the Pinewood Planks embossing folder; added a sentiment from Label Me Bold, and added a touch of washi tape from a couple years back.  Does anyone else have problems with "stale" washi tape?  It seems to lose its sticky factor after a while.  I doubled this one up and added a couple of glue dots, so it's not going anywhere, but just wondered what others do if they have the same dilemma!

I am also entering this in the Color Dare challenge of gray plus two colors!

Anyway, I always need birthday cards for my stash, so this one is ready to go!

We had church OUTSIDE yesterday...it was a little brisk, but most everyone except DH was on board. We bundled up in coats and blankets and people got extras from their cars!  We had about half our regular attenders, which was more than I anticipated.  If you are wondering why we had it outside, it was our session's last-minute decision, and I had recently read an article about sunshine, fresh air and germs; perhaps they read it too!  You can read it here

I'm not too good at selfies, as you can tell!

Anyway, it was an abbreviated sermon on Isaiah 40, we sang a couple of songs and a family joined the church...an event will never forget, I am sure!  We must remember that God is in control and He will take care of us!  Prayers going out for EVERYONE!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

  1. Lovely flowers....perfect gray background! And I struggle with Altenew flowers as well! Outside church was a great idea! I try to get outside as much as I can too!

  2. LeAnne this sounds like my kind of challenge - of course you know by now I wouldn't be challenged to find a FEW greys around here, right?
LOve the color combination - and both of your gorgeous reds. Leaving off the outline stamp? I'd say you are VERY good at aligning these layers! So pretty!
Bless you all for staying out in the cold - maybe God hears those prayers more clearly without walls? lol
Stay well, my friend! I love your sweet selfie! xx

  3. I love the modern color combo! The gray for the leaves is really cool! Maybe use the heat gun on your washi to revive the stickiness?? No idea...I can't seem to get it to stick well regardless of how old it is. And church outside is very cool! Our service streamed live for the first time and it was cool but definitely different! Thanks for sharing at Fab Friday!

  4. I have a problem with trying to make my flowers look real. You always make nice cards and your instructions are understandable.
I like your churches idea, outside service. I watched 2 on the internet.
Stay well and keep up the beautiful cards and family photos!

  9. Love the pretty flowers and the classic grey. Not sure about the washi tape - I have tons of the stuff, but haven't used any in ages - I'm guessing mine will be shrivelled too!!
