RetroRubber 83 Anything Goes

Hi everyone!  Tuesday means another Retro Rubber challenge and this is an easy one---Anything Goes!  Just use stamps that are least a year old, and tell us how old they are!!

I switched gears from Easter yesterday to Christmas today, dusting off a stamp set from 2012 called Winter Memories--again, it was only in the Holiday mini and I barely had time to use it!  I stamped the ice skates in Stazon black and used watercolors and markers to color it in:

I colored a little Soft Sky "shadow" behind the image to give it a little depth, which looks nice with the blue background papers I used:

The sentiment is from the same set, stamped in Poppy Parade, diecut with a square Stitched Shape die, repositioning it so I could get the rectangle shape.  My background is the Plaid Flannel stamp (2006), which is another stamp I'd been wanting for a while and finally found it on ebay!  The little holly leaves are from the Quilt Builder die set; I sponged the edges in Craft White ink, and punched some berries from a scrap of the same paper I used on the front of the card...those little white dots came in handy for my berries' highlights!

And for the inside, I used a stamp set from 2013 called Warmth and Wonder:

And now I have another card for my Christmas stash!  I hope you'll play along with us...the field is wide open!  Share it with us at Retro Rubber and meanwhile, check out what everyone else created for some fun inspiration!  You'll be surprised at what's in the gallery this week!

The library had Candy Bar Bingo yesterday...I don't think they were prepared for the 40+ children that showed up....but the librarian kept her cool and everyone went home a winner!  It was especially fun since the bingo chips were Hershey's Kisses!

(Notice the kisses all lined up!!!)

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

  1. I love the way you transition so quickly to Christmas! Your card is great and I can see you putting on those skates and skating with Cassidy. Candy Bingo...what a fun librarian! You are a blessing!

  2. This is a pretty Christmas card LeAnne! Those skates are wonderful and I like the way the oval they're on dips down into the pretty scallop border. What a fun way to play Bingo. I'm afraid I would lose though...I would probably eat most of my bingo chips!

  3. LeAnne, this is one of my favorite SU set, the images are so beautifully vintage and you made a gorgeous card with this pair of skates.
The pattern papers truly complement each other and are a beautiful way to showcase your image.

  4. Beautiful card for your Christmas card stash, LeAnne! This is certainly one that deserves its day in the ink. Working on holiday cards all year long is a challenge for me but you have given me a push in that direction. Have a great week!

  6. Oh, I can't believe you've started your Christmas stash! The skates are gorgeous but once again, it's your paper pairing magnificence that makes this card sing!

  7. The only benefit to commenting very late on cards is that I get to see all the newer ones while skimming through the posts! I have always enjoyed your cards, your humor and sweet nature. This card is a reminder that winter is still a challenge for so much of the country right now. I love this set. Using the plaid background stamp on the green panel really makes the added details pop! Great card!
