Recycled Christmas

Happy Monday, peeps!  I trust you had a good Easter....it was a glorious day here in SE PA, warm temps, a wonderful church service, great lunch with old and new friends....and now I am going to zip right into Christmas!!!

I have been neglecting my Christmas cards lately, and the Jingle Belles have a "Peace on Earth Day" challenge, which is to recycle or upcycle something into a Christmas card!  I have had this digital image/sentiment sitting in my scrap pile for probably two or three years....no kidding. Maybe even longer!  I just couldn't throw it out!  I also found some ribbon from a package that was so pretty, I couldn't toss it, as well as a Cherry Cobbler textured cardstock diecut that I hadn't used, so I layered them all together with some coordinating DSP from Simple Stories' Handmade Holiday line, and this is what I came up with:

This is a pretty large card; I loved the patterned paper and I had some larger envelopes I found at a yard sale, so I thought I would just make it big and bold!  Here's a closeup up the digital image...and honestly, I cannot even remember from where it came!

Since almost everything was already cut, this took no time at all!  So hopefully I can get back on track with my holiday creations!

I have lots of photos to show you from Easter, but this early morning one just tugged at my heart...not sure how many more years she will be excited like this!

Enjoy your day, be blessed, and be sure to come back tomorrow for a new Stamp Ink Paper challenge!

  1. Love the patterned paper, LeAnne! The digi quote is just fantastic. I should get started on Christmas cards soon as I have zero in my stash. Thanks for the reminder!

  2. Good use of recycle and upcycle. I need to do that when I get home. I have gotten into the bad habit of just tossing stuff into a bin...at least the clutter is off my work sheet :-) I have never outgrown the joy of hunting for Easter eggs!

  9. Beautiful card LeAnne. I can understand how you feel about the holidays with Cassidy. I took care of my 5 year old grand-daughter last week and as we were coloring together I thought to myself that days like this would be getting few and far between in the near future. It made me sad thinking about it but I am savoring every minute I get.
