Paper Players 124

DSCF1311
Happy Sunday, everyone!  The temperatures are supposed to be in the 60s for the next couple of days, so it is a bit challenging to think about the Paper Players challenge for today, courtesy of Ann:
Oh, shoot, I can get happy about snowmen ANY day of the year!  I pulled out a vintage-style SU set called Winter is Calling for my card today:
PP124-LeAnne
I stamped it in Riding Hood Red, reminiscent of the redwork embroidery that used to be popular!  Of course, I added a liberal coating of glitter “snow”:

I mounted this on some pretty green and red holly DP, stitched around the edges, added a diecut holly and some retired SU ribbon, and I have another Christmas card for my stash!  I sure hope you’ll play along with the Paper Players today---be sure to check out the blog for the cute submissions and to show us yours as well!

Thanks for visiting today!

  1. First off, I just have to say that Cassidy looks absolutely beautiful in this photo. Such a sweet face.

I agree I can make a snowman card no matter what the weather. We are supposed to hit 55 on Monday here in Minnesota.

  2. I, too, can make a snowman card ANY day of the year. Definitely my favourite cards to make! Thank goodness we have winter from about November to April so it works out for me...haha!

Love the vintage look of this card and that added die cut holly!!! Loving adding those to my cards lately too!

Sweet picture of your granddaughter. She always looks so happy!

  3. That is a beautiful snowman card! I love the glitter snow. We are supposed to hit 70 over the next few days, but I could still enjoy hot cocoa and stamping a few snowmen.

Cassidy is equally as beautiful. Love the pictures you have been sharing of her "playing mommy." Brings back so many memories of my daughter when she was that age. :) TFS!

  5. The red image looks fabulous, LeAnne, & the sprinkling of snow is so pretty. I love the stitching, sponging & how you have carried the teeny snowflakes onto the sentiment tag too. :)

  9. LeAnne, I love the vintage feel of this card, yet the image itself is CAS. The stitching really adds to the vintage feel and I love the holly leaves and berry. Fabulous card, as always.

  10. I like this snowman scene better than the new one that SU has come out with. It's so pretty stamped in the red with that pretty paper behind it! Love the holly too!

  12. Such a gorgeous card full of vintage charm! The distressed and inked up edges are such a wonderful touch, too. The little dog on that image is too cute...reminds me of my Ozzy. Cassidy looks SO grown-up in that photo. Yikes! Big hugs! :)
