Well, the worst of Hurricane Irene has passed through our neck of the woods, although it is still very, very windy! Other than a couple leaks in a bedroom ceiling, so far we are doing well. I am being lazy today and treated myself to some additional stamping time before I jump into “clean-up” mode! I got some new stamps and used them for this sketch challenge:
And I used this gorgeous color inspiration from the Play Date Cafe:
And here’s my creation:
This also fulfills the Just Add Ink challenge this week, to use something from your stash….I think I have had this DP for about two years, LOL! If you’ve got any questions about the card, just shoot me an email!
I also took some time to CLEAN up my stamp area:
LOOK!!! An empty space!!!!
And here are a couple pictures from our yard after Irene: a downed branch in our back yard;
A young bluebird surveying the yard from atop his house;
Nature’s way of picking apples;
The only thing is, is that they weren’t quite ready yet! But we’re safe & sound so that’s really all that matters! Hope you are too!
Hello Leann! So happy to hear you're all safe and sound with no major damage from Irene! Your card is so SWEET and I especially enjoyed seeing your workspace too. It's rare you can see empty space on mine too. Happy Stamping! :)
ReplyDeleteOh I am so glad to hear you are all well. I have to call my sister to see how they made out.
ReplyDeleteLove the card. That is a great sketch and new stamps.
I love your stamping space. That table looks like an antique. Love antiques!. I like what you have your ink in. Were is that from?
Stay safe and dry!
I'm so pleased to hear you are ok after that bad hurricane, my daughters house has taken a bit of a pounding in Virginia too. Your card is beautiful. Take care, Teresa xx
ReplyDeleteYour card is beautiful - those colors are so soft a pretty together. Love your craft space - your very clean craft space! Mine never EVER looks that good! So happy to hear that you are okay. Hopefully the roof won't be a major repair issue. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteGlad you are ok! Sorry for the leaky roof :('
ReplyDeleteYour card is delightful tho with the cute watermelon stamp!
I'm so glad that all is well with you and your family after the storm. Looks like a broken branch and a few lost apples, not too bad! I'm very jealous of your clean work space.
ReplyDeleteMissed seeing a picture of Cassidy. ; )
Pretty cards.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are safe with no really bad damage. Like the pics-the apple in the branch is great!!

ReplyDeleteYippee! I am glad to hear that you weathered the storm out in fine shape! I loved seeing your stamping space. And before I forget, your card is adorable! Those little watermelon images are just too cute!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you are safe and didn't have any major damage. Love the sweet card.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful - I just love that ribbon! So glad you had time to stamp today before jumping into clean-up mode. I hope to stamp tomorrow as I didn't have any time this weekend with all the prep for Ms. Irene and the clean-up today. I'll be posting pics of the aftermath on my blog sometime tomorrow along with a card (I hope!). So glad to hear that you're alright, minus a few leaks in the ceiling.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card!!! Thanks so much for joining us At The Play Date Cafe :)
ReplyDeleteSo happy to read that you and yours are safe. Your card is adorable!
ReplyDeleteGlad you are safe and didn't have a lot of damage. I live near Irene's path and I fared well too. The card is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHappy to hear you survived the hurricane relatively unscathed, with only minor (hopefully!) damage. It looked like parts of PA had horrible floods. Such a fun card, you have such a way with color (I've probably said that before, tee hee). Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteJust love how you used the sketch!!! Fabulous card. Great to hear you are safe and sound too :)
ReplyDeleteLeAnne I am glad all is good, with just that little bit of Damage to your yard and stuff. Your card is Perfect to do after Irene!! lol Summer days and Watermellon Yum!
ReplyDeleteBTW... I picked you as the Winner of week 2 on my Monster Mash Blog Hop!
Hugs
Shirley
So glad that the damage was minimal. We were so concerned with all our families and friends on the east coast. I truly enjoyed your pictures but am so envious of that apple tree:).So did you feel the quake earlier in the week?
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful card Lee Ann. Love the colours, and those very sweet juicy watermelon slices. Thanks for playing at Just Add Ink.
ReplyDeleteKim
SO glad you're safe and sound LeAnne! Thanks for letting us know ~ those apples do look yummy!!! and your crafting space is wonderful!!!! Enjoy this day my dear!
ReplyDeleteI would also like to know where you got the holder for your ink pads, refills, and markers? That is really neat. Dianna
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you and your family is safe and sound! Your card is beautiful. I love your stamp room too. Hugs,
ReplyDeleteLove the card! The watermelon looks great. Glad to hear everything was good at your house after the storm.
ReplyDeleteLooks like my yard LeAnne!!!! I am glad you faired well all and all. It has been a long time since we have had a hurricane in this neck of the woods. As excited as I was to get it I am gladd we are done, waiting for power to come back and then clean up! Another 15 years years before another one is good with me! LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteSoooo glad, as I'm sure you are, that Irene didn't wind up being stronger than she was. I didn't stamp at all on the weekend, 'cause I was just too nervous getting ready for it. I felt 'cagey'.
ReplyDeleteI see you had some stampin' in you, and it turned out adorable, as always. THe whole melon theme is everywhere in your subtle details, and I love it. Thanks so much for playing with us at The Play Date Cafe!
LeAnne,
ReplyDeleteGlad to learn your family came out unscathed during Irene. Much to be "Thankful" for. Looking at all those prematurely "picked" apples...are you going to make green applesauce with lots of sugar or anything with them? Shame to let them go to waste.
I love this watermelon card. The colors are so soft and that stamp "so sweet". What did you use for the scallops? I can't tell and they look really big.
Love and blessings, Martha
So glad to hear that Irene didn't treat you too badly ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat I really want to know is where you got that fabulous stamp pad/reinker/marker holder. I need, scratch that, gotta get me one!! What a great idea.
Enjoy your 'vacation'.
This is darling, Leann! LOVE it to pieces, especially the simple element of your stacked scallops in the same color as your background! Genius! Thanks so much for playing along with us this week at The Play Date Cafe! Oh! And I'm so glad to hear you are well!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you're OK after Hurricane Irene. This is a lovely card LeAnne. I think I have some of that DSP too, which is totally unopened and unused. Thanks for playing along at JAI this week.
ReplyDeleteAdorable card!!
ReplyDeletethanks so much for playing along with our August sketch challenge :)
Gorgeous card and glad to hear to escaped from too much of the damage from Hurricane Irene. Thanks so much for playing along with us at Just Add Ink.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to read your post and know that all fared well after the storm. Thanks so much for thinking of our challenge over at The Play Date Cafe...LOVE your design!
ReplyDeleteWow!! I am so happy you are safe and sound, LeAnne! I am loving your watermenlon card mucho!! The colors are so happy and the design looks awesome. Look at that pretty CLEAN craft space, too. You would laugh if you saw the condition of mine right now. There is a desk (or 2) in there somewhere...Ahhh!! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat card! Love the soft colors on it.
ReplyDeleteGlad you all survived Irene! We did too but so many neighboring towns by the river lost everything due to flooding. The recovery will cost a fortune and take years around here. This card is just adorable - LOVE it!
