Color Throwdown 155

DSCF6188

Happy Wednesday, peeps! It’s time for another Color Throwdown! Danielle is our hostess today and she really challenged me with these colors:

swatch 155

I wanted to do something other than a floral, so I found some rather murky-looking Basic Grey paper from the Recess line which sort of blended all these colors, so I made a back-to-school/graduation themed card:

CTD155

I stamped the SU sentiment on Barely Banana cardstock in Early Espresso, and then stamped portions of it again in Kiwi Kiss and Rose Red, piecing them on top. I also stamped the image with the Woodgrain background stamp. The pencils were colored with inks and blender pens; I also shaded them with some Barely Banana ink as well. Since this seems like a masculine card, I didn’t want to add bows, but I did add a couple pieces of knotted grosgrain in the closest brown I had, which was Chocolate Chip.

I hope you will pop on over to the CTD blog to play along with us! Meanwhile, check out what the other designers have made using these colors:

Today is Cassidy’s real first birthday, although it feels like we have been celebrating it all week long! Here she is a year ago today:

and here she is now:

I can’t wait to see what the next year brings! We are going to take a little stroll around Longwood Gardens since it is promising to be a nice day….we’ll see! Take care and have a blessed day!
