PP788 A Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge from Joanne

Happy Sunday, peeps! Happy last day of May! Since there are five Sundays in the month, it means a tic-tac-toe grid for the Paper Players and this one is from Joanne!  Here we go:

I had a new stencil and stamp set in my stash, never been used, so I thought this would be a perfect time to get them inky, since my choice on the grid was the right hand column of die cut, stenciling and layers!  So here we go:

I am not 100% sure, but I think Jaydee might have been the enabler that convinced me to get this little bundle from Waffle Flower called Postage Collage Sew Fun.  I used Smoky Slate, Golden Glow, Timid Tiger, Cajun Craze, Flirty Flamingo and Versafine Black for my stenciling and stamping:

The stamps are from the matching set, along with the Postage Collage set, then I diecut it with the Waffle Flower Postage die. I added a Crisp Cantaloupe bow and a wee little embellishment down in the left hand corner, then mounted it all on a Smoky Slate piece of DSP and a Petal Pink card base.  Here's the inside with another sentiment from the set and a birthday sentiment from Our Daily Bread Designs:

I have several crafty friends that might be the recipient of this card!!!  I hope you'll find some inspiration from our Tic-Tac-Toe board this week and play along with us at the Players!  Can't wait to see you there!

Today Blooms Just For You

Happy Friday, everyone! I had some stamping time yesterday but try as I might, I just couldn't make things work quite the way I wanted!  Ever have days like that? I really wanted to use the challenging colors at CAS Colours & Sketches as well as squeak something in for the Retro Rubber sketch:

I don't have any "bubbly"-looking stamps, so I opted for some diecut flowers---an old set from My Favorite Things.  I diecut a bunch of them from Balmy Blue cardstock, added some Night of Navy centers and put them all on a floral-embossed panel and a Gray Granite card.  And I confess that Gray Granite is not one of my go-to colors, so it was definitely a challenge for me to use it!   So here we go:

Even though it didn't take much time to make, I am not sure I would consider it "Clean and Simple", so I may not qualify for that challenge, LOL!  The sentiments are from Perennial Birthday (2018), stamped in Night of Navy:

I did add a couple of sequins for some extra "bubbly-ness"!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

FMS738 Thank You Kindly

Happy Thursday, all!  Cecile's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches was really a cool one, I couldn't wait to play:

A friend of mine recently gave me a pink of homemade strawberry jam---YUM!  I wanted to make her a little thank you card, so I remembered I had an Altenew set that had some strawberries in it:

I first diecut a stitched border with a die from Reverse Confetti and mounted it on a Peaceful Pine card base.  I stamped the berries in Versafine ink, then watercolored them and fussy-cut them out.  The background foliage was stamped in the new In Color Peaceful Pine (stamped off once), and a little stitched stamp was stamped in the same color.

Sentiment is from Whittle Sayings, and I added some little mini sequins for sparkle!  I think I might have to go have some toast with jam after this, LOL!  I am also going to enter this at the Farm Quest challenge where they are looking for fruit!  Thanks so much for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

52CCTD Floating Bay Window Card

Happy Tuesday, all!  I decided to try my hand at a floating bay window card, which is the challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown this week!

They supplied a link to a great tutorial for measurements and inspiration; you can see it HERE.  I chose to use some older CTMH heart 12x12 paper for my card, as it is a little thinner than SU's paper and I felt it was easier to use since there are several layers once you fold it to go in an envelope!  So here we go:

My card base is the retired CTMH Seabrook, and the patterned papers are from Studio Light; the pattern is called Sending Joy.  The images are just gorgeous!  I layered some of the papers on the panels, then fussy-cut a wreath to put on the acetate "floating" panel:

I added some rhinestones and a sentiment from Flourishes' Holiday Greetings, stamped in Lost Lagoon.  Here's what the card looks from the top; it folds and fits into a standard-sized envelope!

I stamped an older Waltzingmouse stamp on the back as it's a bit challenging to sign on the "inside"!!

I recently went through my non-SU stamps and created an excel spreadsheet of all my sets and their sentiments.  Honestly, I really should be ashamed to purchase anything new at all, I have SO MANY STAMPS!!  And I haven't even begun to catalog the SU ones---wood or clear!  So you may see some stamps that haven't seen ink for a while---I forgot about so many of them!

Anyway, hope you enjoyed the Christmas "floating bay window" card! It's not hard at all--I challenge you to try one!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC683 Sunflower Friend

Happy Monday, all!  Blessed Memorial Day to those in the US, too.  Time for a new Atlantic Hearts Sketch:

What a lovely sketch--love all those layers!  So here we go:

I pulled out the old Celebrate Sunflower bundle and created some sunflowers, then added my layers of gingham and prints from my paper stash!  I couldn't help adding some embossing in the middle, using the pretty Lazy Daisy embossing folder, then a "friend" sentiment from Waffle FLower, as this is a birthday card for a special friend.  I am not even showing the inside because she might realize it's for her, LOL!  I stamped the sunflowers in Golden Glow and used a sponge dauber to color them in, adding a wee bit of Soft Sea Foam marker to the leaves:

Some simple yellow sequins finished it off!  I hope you'll play along with our lovely sketch this week too! You can find details at the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog!  Hope to see you there!

Thanks for stopping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP787 I'm Here For You

Happy Sunday, all!  It's wet, rainy, and chilly this weekend, so no marching in the Memorial Day parade sadly!  But it is time for the latest Paper Players challenge, and I am the hostess this week with an easy sketch for you:

I am trying to use up some of my retired DSPs---a never-ending job, really---and thought one of the scenes from Beautiful Gallery would fit the bill, so here we go:

I used a Rectangle Stitched die to cut out a portion of the design, then a Stitched Shapes to highlight another portion of it.  My background paper is from a couple of years ago, it's a corduroy print from All About Autumn; I liked how it coordinated with the darker blues in the main panel.  A simple sentiment from the retired set Occasional Quotes was stamped on a banner.  My only other embellishments were some little dots placed in the corners.  I did add a sympathy sentiment to the inside, because I like to have some on hand.

I hope you'll find some inspiration from my sketch this week and play along with us at the Players!  While you're there, check out what the DT created and give them some love too!  Thanks for visiting today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

AYSI373 Speedy Tulips

Happy Friday! Time for a new As You See It challenge, and it's SPEED STAMPING time!  Woohoo!  For this challenge, we are asking you to stamp a card in ten minutes or less, and show us your time!  You can assemble all your supplies ahead of time, but once you start stamping/diecutting/adhering, you're on the clock!  So here's our prompt this week:

I don't have many tulip stamps--maybe one--but I do have a wee little tulip die that I bring out every now and then, and since it's small I was pretty sure I could fit it into my ten-minute time frame!  So here we go:

I really love the combination of Poppy Parade and Pool Party, so when I saw this big polka dot print DSP in my scrap bin, I thought it would be great for a bright red tulip!  It comes with this little frame die, and I already had this piece of white cardstock embossed and unused, so I ran everything through the Big Shot , did some stamping and punching, and called it done!  Hopefully you can't see the glue that oozed out while trying to adhere that skinny little frame, LOL!

Since I had some time left, I did add some red enamel dots for pizzazz!  And since the Just Add Ink challenge this week is "Polka Dots", I am entering it there!

And here's my time:

Not bad!  I hope you'll not be scared off by our speed stamping challenge!  Just keep it simple, bright and fun!  Share it with us over at the As You See It blog, and don't forget to give us your time!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Hello Sweet Friend

Happy Thursday, peeps! I have a fun little card today for three challenges; the FMS sketch, the friend of mine challenge at Little Red Wagon, and the envelope challenge from CAS on Sunday:

So here we go:

I started with a little scrap of Pool Party DSP and created an envelope with it using the Love Notes dies, then added a little note stamped with the "hello" to tuck inside. I stamped some hearts from the retired Wood Words in Blushing Bride ink and mounted both on a panel of Pool Party diecut with the Perennial Postage dies and stamped with Elements of Text.  I had one last little piece of this twine that I wrapped around the envelope, then mounted it on a piece of DSP. The DSP is actually Petal Pink; I always get those two colors mixed up, but it'll have to do, LOL!

My final addition was the "sweet friend" from Poppy Stamps, stamped on a little banner.  You'll see some of these papers again tomorrow--spoiler alert!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

In(k)spire Me 590 Take Care

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  The sketch at In(k)spire Me had lots of fun layers, and after doing several CAS cards lately, I thought it would be fun to do some layers!  Here's the prompt (I only used the sketch):

I am not a huge yellow fan, but the new In Color Golden Glow has a nice warm feel to it, so I decided to do a monochromatic card with it.  My friend is in the hospital with pneumonia, so I thought I'd send this to her.  Does she like cats?  I have no idea, but hopefully she'll be enamored of these little kitties:

I used DSPs from Painted Patterns and Bloom Boutique for my background.  The larger banner is Golden Glow, stamped with some "leaves" from the Aspen Grove set.  The sentiment is from Scalloped Wishes, and the kitties are from the Cutest Crew dies.  There is a layer of Sunset Shimmer Vellum on the circle that the kitties are on; it's a very pretty iridescent and although you probably can't see the shimmer in the photo, it adds a nice touch:

It was fun to mix and match these patterns! And I was tempted to color in the kitties, but I kind of like them "vanilla"!!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC682 Poinsettia Greetings

Happy Monday, everyone!  Although it doesn't feel much like Christmas weather here in PA, I am using this week's Atlantic Hearts sketch for a decidedly festive card!  Here's the sketch:

What a lovely sketch, full of wonderful layers!  So here we go:

I usually don't go in for lots of diecuts on my cards, but today I embraced my Big Shot, dies and cardstocks and layered them on thick!  I diecut several poinsettias in Real Red cardstock, then shaded them with Cherry Cobbler ink and gave them some gold glimmer centers:

A few different papers from my stash formed the other layers, and I used some white glimmer paper to create the diecut sentiments and foliage.  A sentiment from Wrapped in Christmas went on the inside:

I love poinsettias at Christmas; they remind me of holidays at my grandfather's florist shop where my mom would always get one for my teachers!  Luckily, these poinsettias don't need watering or a dark closet, LOL!  I hope you'll find some inspiration from our sketch and play along with us at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!  Thanks for visiting--enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP786 CAS Challenge from Ann

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Ann is our Paper Players hostess this week with a fun Clean and Simple challenge:

Yum!  There are a myriad of choices with this challenge! Just remember to keep it clean and simple--minimal layers, images and stamps!  I put my new Made With Sweetness dies to work, using the peach die along with the Mini Alphabet dies as well:

I used Crisp Cantaloupe and Pumpkin Pie cardstocks to create my peach slice, adding a little white craft ink to the Pumpkin Pie piece to soften it up a bit.  The tag was cut from some retired Crisp Cantaloupe DSP and a piece of vellum, tied with some Crisp Cantaloupe ribbon.  I shaded the alphabet letters with a Blend to give them a little depth.

I added a sentiment from the retired Sunny Sentiments set:

And I am going to enter this into the TGIF challenge, which is thank you cards:

We can't wait to see what food you will add to your clean and simple card!  Share it with us at the Paper Players blog!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Stenciled Merry & Bright

Happy Friday, everyone! Hope you have some fun plans for the weekend.  We may finally see some nicer temps and sunshine!  I have a Christmas card today that fulfills two challenges;  the Krafty Chicks want Christmas, and Just Us Girls, where they want flowers:

I recently got a new stencil and die from Spellbinders called Christmas Florals.  This was my first attempt at using it, so it's not perfect but I can see lots of possibilities with it!  Here we go:

I pretty much followed the picture on the package, LOL...next time I might use some other colors!  After diecutting it, I mounted it on a brick-embossed backbround piece and added the Strawberry Slush sentiment, which also comes with the set:

A sentiment from the retired Peaceful Season went on the inside:

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!
