OCCC and SCH#5

 DSCF0161

I had a little bit of free time this afternoon, so I made a card for Our Creative Corner’s color challenge, which is “How Green is Your Spring”:

and for Sugar Creek Hollow’s challenge #5, which is to make a birthday card:

DSCF0160

I snagged this free image from web, and added a leafy background and some embellishments.  I am not too sure about that M&M-looking button down there..but it’s on there now!  Thanks for visiting; be sure to come back tomorrow for the Paper Players’ new challenge!

Get Well Wishes

DSCF0120

Two women in our church had hip replacement surgery this week!  Yikes!  I got to work making some Get Well cards!  I used Lesley’s Freshly Made Sketches sketch for the first one.  Here’s the sketch:

And here is my card, a last hurrah using SAB goodies Fresh Vintage and Everyday Enchantment :

Clean edges, no distressing, simple & basic!  The next one again uses that tulip digital image from Arielle….I had just printed out several and was coloring them in different colors; this one in red hues:

It also uses some digital DP and some sweet little retired SU ribbons!  Easy peasy!  Thanks for visiting today!

Bonus Stamping Time!

  DSCF0124

I didn’t have to babysit today, so I got a little extra stamping time!  The first card I’ll share is for the Sugar Creek Hollow Steampunk challenge:

DSCF0118

This is probably cleaner & simpler than they prefer, but it’s easier to mail that way!  All the images are digital, printed on some Basic Grey paper.  I added a little chipboard pennant embellished with some brads.  It’s a perfect masculine thank you card!

My next card is for two challenges:  Create with Connie & Mary‘s color challenge 195:

and sketch 32 from the Stampin Queens:

SQSC27-002

and here is my creation:

DSCF0122.JPG-1

I have to admit that these colors were challenging, for sure!  Really out of my comfort zone, but after seeing the designers’ creations, I went for it!   I again did fairly clean and simple and used some of my favorite SU products:  the Two Tags die, which I shortened; the SAB Fresh Vintage set (you have a couple more days to get this!), and the floral punch from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack and Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch.  Both papers are from Just Add Cake.  I “dyed” some Very Vanilla grosgrain ribbon by coloring it with my So Saffron marker!

One of Cassidy’s favorite things to do outside is pull her saucer along---snow or no snow!  I thought she would enjoy giving her little stuffed toy “Moo” a ride as well.  She was having none of it---she placed him back on the driveway and went on her merry way without him!

Now I am off to bake a cake!

Frilly and Funkie

DSCF0112

The Funkie Junkie, Linda Coughlin, has started a new challenge called Frilly & Funkie.  The first challenge was yesterday, and I couldn’t wait to play!  Although I love vintage style creations, they do take me forever to do!  Thankfully, their challenges are every other week once they get started!  I printed out a vintage Easter postcard, mounted it on Pool Party card, and added some vintage embellishments:

Most everything was a little scrap from here & there!  There is a little bit of stamping, and I dyed the seam binding with some Pool Party ink.  Here are a couple closeups:

If you have any questions about anything on the card, just shoot me an email (be sure to include yours as well so I can answer!). And how about some gymnastics?

Retrosketches 4 & 3

Well, I am still having LiveWriter issues today but hopefully this will post through Blogger!  I am just not computer-savvy enough to figure out why things happen the way they do!  Anyhoo, I needed a quick thank-you card, and the RetroSketches sketch#4 was perfect to get me started:

And here is my card, done in monochromatic shades of Wisteria Wonder:

I used Butterfly Prints, Short & Sweet and Style Beautiful, along with a Label Framelit and Adorning Accent Embosslit.  Here's a closer view:

I also did a card for the RetroSketch #3, but never got a chance to post it:

I used one of Arielle's digital images, colored with Copics.  I don't have a picture of Cassidy to share today, but how about one of Pumpkin, sleeping in one of her favorite places.....a SU box!

Enjoy your day!

Troubles.....

I had some email/hacking issues last night, so I am trying to get them resolved. Hopefully my post will be up shortly!!!

ColourQ130

DSCF0068-1

Arielle is tempting us today with some lovely Easter colors for the ColourQ:

cqc130

Wouldn’t you love to have a handcrafted fabric basket like that?  So sweet!  I had to make do with a stamped “basket”:

For some reason, my Certainly Celery just doesn’t look right in the photo, but  that’s what it is!  I used the sketch from the Card Monkey challenge this week:

They always have such fun challenges!  I did some watercoloring and embossing on my card and used a few diecuts as well:

DSCF0069

Hope you’ll play along with these fun, bright colors!  This palette can be interpreted in so many ways!  We can’t wait to see what you come up with; please share it with us at the ColourQ blog and make sure you see what the other designers have done as well!

Merry Monday 13

 DSCF0070-1

Just a quick post today as we have a funeral to attend.  Lesley’s Merry Monday sketch was perfect for a little piece of DP I already had sitting on my desk:

and here’s my quick card:

DSCF0071-1

Card base is Riding Hood Red, accent is Always Artichoke.  I stamped Santa on textured Very Vanilla and just colored him in with markers and added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter!  Easy peasy!

Thanks for the visit!  Be sure to come back tomorrow for the next ColourQ challenge!

Paper Players 88

DSCF0054

Happy Sunday!  Ann has a wonderful Paper Players sketch for us today:

I love this sketch!  I hope it will inspire you too! Here’s what I came up with:

PP88 - LeAnne new

I used the Rosemary image from Herb Expressions, stamped in Stazon on watercolor paper and watercolored with Marina Mist and Wild Wasabi.  I gave it some “antiquing” with the waterspot image from French Foliage in Sahara Sand and antiqued all the edges with SS as well.  I added a little felt border cut with the Tasteful Trim die, and the little spade is from a retired set called Garden Pleasures (thanks, Wanda, for that idea!).  The piece of First Edition DP, which I grabbed out of my folder willy-nilly, just happened to have information on herbals!!  A nice tie-in!  Here are a couple closeups:

This card also qualifies for:

We can’t wait to see what colors, images and embellishments you use on your creations this week!  Share them with us at the Paper Players blog, and while you’re there, be sure to see what the other designers have come up with!

The first popsicle of the season!

F4A109 Mermaid Birthday

DSCF6211

A friend asked me to make a second birthday card for her granddaughter, and she likes mermaids.  This is what I came up with for her:

 DSCF6209

This is probably one of my favorite cards I ever made!  I just love the colors, the digital image and the background paper!  Of course, those little starfish are cute, too!  The three of them allowed this card to also qualify for the Free 4 All Challenge yesterday at SCS—Three or More!  It’s hard to see, but there are little sparkles on her “scales”:

DSCF6213

She was colored with Copics, and I used the SU colors of Pool Party, Peach Parfait and Calypso Coral for ink and cardstock.   Thanks for visiting today!

DH made Cassidy a really nice little sandbox!
