When I was 13, my younger brother, who was 8 at the time, and I were late to school and had already made several trips back home to get forgotten items. On the way back from the second trip, my brother was ahead of me by 2 house lengths when I tried to catch up to him, I stepped into a crack in the sidewalk and fell and broke my pinkie finger! I wore a cast for about 2 months and on the day of our Student Council election speeches, one of my friends had to deliver mine because I was getting my cast removed. I was in 8th grade at the time. To this day my brothers and now my husband and son laugh at the fact that I broke my finger because of a crack in the sidewalk.
