PP787 I'm Here For You

Happy Sunday, all!  It's wet, rainy, and chilly this weekend, so no marching in the Memorial Day parade sadly!  But it is time for the latest Paper Players challenge, and I am the hostess this week with an easy sketch for you:

I am trying to use up some of my retired DSPs---a never-ending job, really---and thought one of the scenes from Beautiful Gallery would fit the bill, so here we go:

I used a Rectangle Stitched die to cut out a portion of the design, then a Stitched Shapes to highlight another portion of it.  My background paper is from a couple of years ago, it's a corduroy print from All About Autumn; I liked how it coordinated with the darker blues in the main panel.  A simple sentiment from the retired set Occasional Quotes was stamped on a banner.  My only other embellishments were some little dots placed in the corners.  I did add a sympathy sentiment to the inside, because I like to have some on hand.

I hope you'll find some inspiration from my sketch this week and play along with us at the Players!  While you're there, check out what the DT created and give them some love too!  Thanks for visiting today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

  1. LeAnne, that is such a lovely paper it would be a shame if it never saw the light of day. What a wonderful condolence card.
A really great sketch - you are as great creating them as you are playing with them!

  2. Beautiful card, LeAnne! Love that your 2 different papers coordinated so well together. Great card for your sketch this week! TFS and let's hope this dreary weather moves on soon! I know we need the rain but it's alittle miserable especially for a holiday weekend.

  6. Pretty paper on your lovey card. Great sketch. I agree with Claire, I could never use all of my paper making 20 cards a day. :) I am going to share with my crafting friends and I know they will appreciate it. Happy Memorial Day.

  8. The picture, with the moody watercolour look, and the dark colours create a serious mood just right for the sentiment. I like the way the circle spotlights and repeats the main scene. Thanks for the sketch - it's a beauty. :-)

  10. OK so I love this sketch (I am using it for the third time in a week tomorrow!!) it really is so versatile. That rectangle is a lovely way to include a large scene and the circle to then spotlight the detail. And the colours and serene scene perfect for your sentiment too. Bravo on using up some paper too - I share your mission lol!

  11. LeAnne, this is the perfect use of this sketch. The large scale background and the spotlight element work beautifully together. I really need to use more of my patterned paper stash! BTW, love this image with the sentiment, too
