Happy Tuesday, all! No challenges today, but I wanted to share one of the cards we made at stamp club last night, which was a quilted star card. I originally saw this on Amanda Mertz's blog and she got the idea from Lorraine Tierney. You can see her card, as well as her YouTube video, HERE. It looks complicated, but it's really quite easy and she gives you some neat tricks! So here are the versions we did, using the Christmas Greetings card pack along with the Christmas Tags & More DSP and ephemera:
We started with strips of the DSP; I confess that I resorted to using Taylored Expressions 1/2" Easy Strips dies to cut them out, because they cut four at a time, which made things quite a bit speedier! After adhering them according to Lorraine's directions, we then embossed the panel with the Eyelet embossing folder and added an ephemera in the center:
The tag was stamped with a sentiment from Pine Tree Trimmings and diecut with a Stylish Shapes dies; the ribbon is a new Online Exclusive for November, called Chevron! The club ladies seemed to like this card, and we all liked the pre-made cards in Crumb Cake and Garden Green, with gold accents, which are a little larger and come with matching envelopes! I can't wait to play some more with the little punchouts from the DSP pack...so cute!
I hope you are staying warm because it's COLD and windy here today! Thanks for popping in, enjoy your day and be blessed!

ReplyDeleteI LOve your darling paper choices, LeAnne! That bit of kraft polka dot really brought the homespun to this quilt block! LOve the ephemera pieces, too! What a fun class that must have been.
ReplyDeleteCold and windy and a still some snow on the ground - our chat brought the sunshine to my day!

Love these! The paper choice is perfect; very cozy and quilt like! And using the DSP die cuts is so smart!! TFS!
ReplyDeleteIt was cold and windy here today too and a good day to curl up under a pretty quilt! This looks like a fun class!
ReplyDeleteWell these are just as warm and cozy as they can be! Just what we need after the snow flurries we've had! Charming card, LeAnne!
ReplyDeleteWell, these are just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThese are so pretty! I have everything I need to CASE with the exception of the ephemera. Thank you also for remembering my b'day! Love silhouettes!!
ReplyDeleteI love quilt cards and these are so cute, especially using the two kits (which I fortunately have). I too will resort to half inch dies to cut the strips. Thank you for sharing.
