PP757 A Wagon Full of Fun

Happy Sunday, all! Stef is our Paper Players hostess this week and she has a wonderful, versatile sketch for us:

I did take a little liberty with the sketch, turning it on its side, because when I stamped my image, I didn't realize how large it was, LOL!  And I bucked the circular shape (which I would normally do) and went with a rectangle!  I found this cute image in my retired fall stamps and just had to give his little guy some ink:

Since my image was so large, I made a larger card--this one measures 4 1/2 x 6 1/4"  I stamped some Timeless Plaid DSP with a little leafy border, then added my watercolored image:

It was stamped on Fluid 100 Watercolor paper and colored with reinkers.  The "hello" is from Unbounded Love.  A really old stamp was used for the inside sentiment:

as well as some little pumpkins I stamped down in the corner!  Some of my old SU favorite styles!

I hope you'll find some inspiration from the DT at the Paper Players--I am sure this sketch will have you coming up with all kinds of ideas!  Share them with us at the blog, we can't wait to see what you create!

  2. Look at this guy go! Such a darling story your card tells, LeAnne. My thoughts are that he is either anxious to make a jack-o-lantern or hoping for pumpkin pie!

He is so cute scampering along with his wagon full of pumpkins and your watercoloring is beautiful. And I also love the little detail of adding the leaf border stamp to the dsp. Perfection!

  9. I like that you bucked the trend and used a rectangle. The image is wonderful - he looks so full of joy in the simple things like the leaves, the fresh air and the thought of whatever he's going to do with those pumpkins. Lovely card! :-)

  12. LeAnne, I love this! Once again, you used a vintage image and made it fresh and modern. I love the colors you chose for his clothing, and you watercolored this image beautifully. I love the buffalo check with the scallops and stitching. But the fabulous finishing touch was the use of the acorn and leaves stamp!
