AHSC592 Christmas Washi

Happy Monday, peeps! Time for a new Atlantic Hearts sketch! Check it out:

These diagonal lines reminded me of washi tape, which I rarely use! I pulled out some Christmas ones and did some layering:

For the floral element, I diecut a snowflake from some CTMH glimmer paper, along with a few little swirls:

I stamped one of the new Christmas Labels in retired Baja Breeze ink, along with a cute little Iconic Imagery snowflake!

This one went together quickly, once I figured out what I wanted to do!  Hope you'll play along too!  You'll be able to see all the DT samples on Wednesday so be sure to check them out at Atlantic Hearts.

I am going to be taking a little bloggy break for the next week or so, doing some R&R!  I'll see you in September (remember that song?!)!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP704 Sketch from Jaydee

Happy Sunday, everyone! Jaydee is our Paper Players hostess this week with a fabulous sketch! I just love sketches!  Here's what she came up with:

I went with a square-shaped card and pulled out my neglected Nests of Winter DSP! This card features almost all paper....only one wee little stamp:

I paired the twig paper with some Country Lace paper and diecut the bird from the Nests of Winter paper as well, using the Winterly Tree Tops dies.  I mounted him on a couple of diecut circles, stamped the word "peace" from Iconic Imagery and finished it off with some sequins and a Moody Mauve mat:

I added a sentiment from the retired set called Greatest Part of Christmas:

Easy and simple to let the paper do most of the work!  I hope you'll be inspired by our sketch and will play along with us at the Paper Players blog!  See you there!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Happy Firday, everyone! I need to make some Halloween cards....and I have SO MANY Halloween stamps and papers, where do I begin?  The Sunday Stamps sketch was a fun one, gave me a chance to dive into those supplies a wee bit!  Here's the sketch:

So here we go:

My papers are from Carta Bella (Happy Halloween), along with Granny Apple Green, Basic Beige and Basic Black cardstocks.  My cat image is from Close to My Heart, and the sentiment is from Recollections:

I added a Granny Apple Green foil banner to jazz it up a bit!  Here's the inside, a really old Lizzie Anne stamp:

I need more cards, so I guess I'd better get busy!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

FMS650 If Friends Were Pumpkins

Hello, stamping friends! The FMS sketch is a fun one this week:

I've been concentrating so much on Christmas cards, I've been neglecting my fall images, so I decided to remedy that! I pulled out an older SU stamp clled Pretty Pumpkins, some woodgrain DSP and went to work:

I diecut the pumpkins and leaves from Thick Basic White and stamped them with Stazon ink, then watercolored them:

I have always thought this was a fun sentiment, too:

I love these fall colors!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Hello Fall with Iconic Imagery

Happy Tuesday, peeps! Hope you're having a good week so far!  It definitely does not feel like August here in SE PA, but that's fine with me!  Since it feels more fall-like, I decided to play with some fall images from the new Iconic Imagery bundle.  I used the colors from Hand-Stamped Sentiments (gulp, Wild Wheat is in there!) as well as the fun sketch from CAS Colour & Sketches:

So here we go:

I diecut three leaves from Very Vanilla cardstock and stamped them with the challenge colors, stamping off for the centers.  A few little sprigs from the same die set were cut with matching colors, tucked behind each leaf on a Spotlight on Nature circle...the one that looks like a paper plate! Not sure if I am happy with that look but it is what it is!  I also embossed another Vanilla panel with the Leaf Fall embossing folder to add to the fall feel:

The sentiment is from Choose Happy and it just happens to fit in the wee little banner die featured in Iconic Imagery as well! Serentipitous!  A few more leaves and a pretty sentiment from Sketched Butterflies went on the inside:

Off to the library to get some more books! I just read a great book and I must say that I LOVED it! It was called Harry's Trees by Jon Cohen....very cleverly done, intriguing story, twists and turns, and a happy ending!  I also read The Littlest Library by Poppy Alexander! It was cute too!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC591 Peace & Joy

Happy Monday, peeps! I am playing with some new goodies today, using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch:

The new Graceful Greenery vellum is really pretty; it coordinates with the Golden Greenery stamp set, but I paired it today with a sentiment from Iconic Images:

I backed the vellum with a piece of Basic White so I could layer it on a Mossy Meadow card, which I stamped with a sprig from the retired Sparkle of the Season.  I stamped the sentiment words in Old Olive and Pecan Pie on an Iconic Imagery die, and layered it on a Spotlight on Nature circle diecut:

I stamped a couple of little sprinkles behind the sentiment, and put some linen thread behind it.  The inside sentiment and die are from Christmas Labels....you're going to be seeing a lot of this in the future!

This is a lovely sketch and I hope you'll play along at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!

She liked the card!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP703 CAS Challenge from Claire x Three

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Claire is our Paper Players hostess this week, and it's a Clean and Simple week! Here's her prompt:

What a fun challenge!  I confess that it took me THREE tries to get a card that I was happy with for this challenge; first, I don't really have that many fruit stamps (although when I thought harder about it, I did have a few!). Second, one of them wasn't clean-and-simple enough for me, and third, I just wasn't altogether happy with it!  But here's the one that I finally ended up with:

My fruit is a basket of grapes from an older SU set called Provencal; I heat embossed it in black ink and watercolored the image in with inks and an aquapainter.  The swirly image is from Timeless Textures and the sentiment is from Harvest Home, all of which are also retired.

I stamped another swirly image on the inside and added a stamp from Day of Thanks:

My first Thanksgiving card!

This next one was my original card, and I just didn't feel it was CAS enough. I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and the colors from Colour Inkspiration:

Same image....did some watercoloring, paper piecing (because my watercoloring bled like crazy), some embossing and some diecutting:

\

The little "celebrate" tag is from Our Daily Bread Designs.

The final one was certainly CAS enough but it just didn't have any "oomph" to me:

Basic Beige background with a wee bit of decorative diecutting and Berry Burst image and sentiment (Unity). I love this sentiment, so I am sure I'll be able to use it for something!

SO....what will you create with our fruity CAS challenge?  There are lots of gorgeous fruit-related stamps out in our stamping world, so dig yours out and share it with us at the Paper Players, where you can see all the DT's submissions as well!   We'll be celebrating Cassidy's 14th birthday today, so I'm gonna run!  Thanks for popping in today, enjoy it and be blessed!

Happy Birthday, Cassidy!

Happy Saturday, peeps! Today is Cassidy's 14th birthday! Time flies!  I made her a card using some basketball papers from Echo Park:

It's a wee bit larger than a standard card, it's 4 1/2" x 6 1/2".  I wanted to get lots of the basketball images on it!!  Everything is from the Echo Park pad except for the basketball and the "HB".  The basketball is an older SU stamp, stamped in Pecan Pie and I added (poorly) the black lines with a fine-tip marker.  The diecut letters are from Lawnfawn.

Here's the inside, I used another image from Have a Ball and the sentiment is from Biggest Wish:

She asked for mostly sport-related clothing for her birthday and one sweatshirt she wanted was not going to arrive on time. So I did a little creative tracing and cutting; this will go in her card with a "coming later" note!

Thanks for poping in today! We're celebrating tomorrow, so cleaning is on my agenda for today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AYSI330 & JB2417 Vintage St Nick

Happy Friday, peeps! I have been struggling with my creativity these last few days....I am overwhelmed with new product and I don't know where to begin! I did force myself to create a new Christmas card because the As You See It Challenge is vintage, as well as the Jingle Belles challenge chose the Spirit of Christmas Past for their current challenge. I had not delved into my Traditions of St Nick DSP or the new upcoming Christmas Labels bundle, so that gave me some impetus!  Here's the challenge prompt:

And here's my card; again, not fabulously creative but it gave me a chance to use some new stuff:

I fussy cut St Nick along with some tree and popped him up on a piece of Country Lace DSP, matted wtih Mossy Meadow.  I did give him some shading with a sponge dauber and Crumb Cake ink:

The front of the card is the opposite side of the St Nick DSP, which is a pretty vintage pattern in Real Red.  I diecut one of the labels from Basic Beige cardstock and added the sentiment; it is so cool how the words fit right into the panels of the label!  Love it!  I did add some little glimmer paper stars using the star die from Iconic Imagery:

Inside was another sentiment from Christmas Labels!

I think I'd going to spend some time at the pool today...rain is forecasted for tomorrow and I've been busy in the house all week long, so some "outdoor time" is needed!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

RRCB237 You're Too Kind

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  I had a little stamping time yesterday; I had been going through some older DSP tablets and came across Plaid Tidings.  It had lots of nice seasonal plaids in it, but there were a couple that had brighter colors and I just never could warm up to them.  After seeing the Retro Rubber tic-tac-toe board, I decided to challenge myself and use one of the plaids along with a stamp from last year called Fruitful Blessings (2023). Here's the board:

I originally chose the diagonal of Die-cut, Heat/Dry emboss (I have both) and Patterned Paper, but I realize I also have Rectangles, Sequins and Stencil in there as well!  So here we go:

I normally don't go for big bold colors, but I really wanted to highlight the Melon Mambo in that plaid! The floral image was stamped in Versafine Black AND Versamark inks, using my stamp positioner, then heat-embossed with clear embossing powder and watercolored.  Having the outlines embossed made the watercoloring go quickly! Normally I would use fall tones, but these reminded me of the zinnias that we saw at Longwood:

I did some very light stenciling in the background, added some embossing with Stitched Whimsy around the outside of the stenciling, then finished it off with the big, bold sentiment from Wanted to Say.  I did add a few sequins that matched the colors.  I was pretty happy with the end result!  Thanks so much for visiting today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

TCH92 Feel Better Soon

Hello, everyone!  I haven't gotten my Country Flowers set inky for a while, and the Color Hues challenge of pink and brown got me to thinking!

So here we go:

I also used the TGIF Challenge sketch:

I began with some Pretty in Pink striped DSP, then added my Pecan Pie teapot and my pink and tan flowers:

The flowers were stamped in Saddle Brown Stazon ink so I could watercolor them in; the pot was stamped in Craft White ink and embossed with white embossing powder.  For fun, I adhered the layers of the pink DSP to a piece of white scrap paper, then ran it through the Eyelet embossing folder before adhering it to a mat of Crumb Cake. I also added some Crumb Cake leaves behind the flowers.  A sentiment from Unbounded Love and a few sequins finished it off.  This color combination kind of reminds me of Neopolitan ice cream, LOL!

The kids went to King's Dominion in Virginia over the weekend for Cassidy's birthday and did a spooky escape room:

The next day, they got stuck on a roller coaster!!! They were only a short distance from the end, but I guess they had to be rescued!  Yikes!

This is why I just watch from the sidelines, LOL! Thanks so much for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!
