AYSI302 Trust in the Lord

Happy Friday, everyone, and happy last day of June! Wow, that month zipped by!  I had a little bit of free stamping time today and I really liked Jan's sketch at As You See It:

I needed a sympathy card, so I gathered up my supplies and here's what I came up with:

I always forget that the Bible verse from Courage & Faith, along with the images on each side, are pretty large!!  But after stamping and coloring them, I didn't want to give up, so I used the Countryside Corners dies to cut them out, (running the panel through two times to shorten it) then mounted the panel on some Inked Botanicals DSP and a Lost Lagoon card base.

The words were stamped in Lost Lagoon, the foliage in Soft Seafoam, and the foliage was then colored in with a Blend and some ink.  I added a Lost Lagoon ribbon and some retired gems, then stamped two sentiments from Lasting Joy in the inside:

I also embossed the front of the card with the Leaf Fall embossing folder!  Now, it's off to write some consoling words and pop it in the mail!  Thanks so much for stopping by today--enjoy it and be blessed!

Be sure to fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things he has done for you.  Yet if you persist in doing evil, both you and your king will be swept away.

FMS592 Woof

Happy Thursday, peeps!  I haven't had much stamping time this week, but I did manage to create a fun little birthday card for a dog-loving friend!  It uses the FMS sketch:

And here we go:

My wee little pup and his baseball are from Close to My Heart and the sentiment is so old, I have no idea who made it...I just know the name of the set is Ruff Day!  I used a plethora of die cuts for the grass, sun and clouds, and it all went on a Basic White card base with a Soft Sky sky:

Oh, and I did add a little face from Taco Fiesta on my sun!  And the inside says "That's Happy Birthday in dog talk"...which was partly stamped and partly printed in marker!  Another card in the mail!  Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC531 Zoo Crew Wobbler

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  A quick post today before I run to take Cass to b-ball camp!  This card is for one of John's great-nephews and it uses the Atlantic Hearts Sketch:

I recently bought some of those little wobbler thingies that you attach to your card to give it some motion!  So here we go, using Zoo Crew DSP and a few miscellaneous stamp sets:

I did some partial diecutting to isolate the balloon from the rest of the image and created a card base of Lemon Lime Twist, some matching DSP and Zoo Crew DSP.  The sentiments are from Biggest Wishes and a past Paper Pumpkin kit; I highlighted the "birthday" with a rectangle from Watercolor Shapes, just to give it more emphasis.  The wobbler is attached to the back of the raccoon and wobbles back and forth when I give it a wee little push:

Another past Paper Pumpkin sentiment on the inside, and it's in the mail!

Thanks so much for popping in today---enjoy it and be blessed!

CAS260 Love You Always

Happy Monday, everyone!  I have Cassidy this week and it's basketball camp week! She really loves her basketball so hopefully she'll learn some new skills and hone up the ones she's working on!  I have a quick clean-and-simple card today for the CAS On Sunday challenge, which is "love"!  It's hard not to think of pink, red and Valentines when making a "love" card, so I tried to think outside the box a bit and just used a simple sentiment and floral image, along with a couple of embellishments:

I managed to use up a few scraps on this card!  The piece of watercolor paper was one I didn't use from another project...I just turned it over and used the other side, LOL!  I love the font on this sentiment; it's from the new Stamped With Love set, and since I already had Dainty Delight on my desk, I chose the small Queen Anne's lace image, stamping it in Soft Seafoam ink.  I used a retired piece of baker's twine to give a little accent and colored some retired Candy Dots with a Black Blend for the corner:

Simple and easy!

Dana took a stained glass class yesterday at a local winery and she shared with me what she made:

The dragonfly started with pieces of stained and clear glass and a silver fork with the top cut off!  Dana placed dried flowers on one piece of glass, then covered it with another one, making a "sandwich" to create the top wings.

Then she learned how to solder the foil and flux together with the soldering iron; she said it was a little tricky but I think she did pretty well for the first time!

Thanks so much for visiting today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP646 Most Wonderful Sketch

Happy Sunday, stampers!  I am beginning to feel like a mushroom here in SE PA, it has done nothing but RAIN for the best part of the week, with several more days ahead.  I guess I shouldn't complain, as we were almost in a drought; that certainly has been taken care of!  Anyway, it's time for a new Paper Players challenge with the lovely Claire as our hostess, and she has a fun sketch for us:

The Jingle Belles are also having a masculine Christmas card challenge, so I decided to combine both the challenge and the sketch for my card today, since Christmas is only SIX MONTHS AWAY!!!:

Nothing says "masculine" like dad going to pick up the family Christmas tree in his truck, right?  The retired Hostess set Holiday Haul provided the perfect little image to go along with these fun papers from Violet Studio Designs!

Sentiments are from Close to My Heart, and I even stamped a little Santa sack on the inside as well!

Claire has designed such a fun sketch for us, I plan to use this for an upcoming stamp camp myself!  And I hope you'll find some inspiration from it as well!  Be sure to check out what the design team at the Paper Players has come up with and share yours with us too!

Thanks for visiting today--enjoy it and be blessed!

AYSI301 Speedy Seashells

Happy Saturday, peeps!  The As You See It challenge is a speed challenge this week, and the theme is seashells:

Since the start of this summer has been rather "un-sunny", I jumped at the chance to do a sunny, seashore-themed card!  I gathered all my supplies together and went to work:

I already had the Crumb Cake cardstock cut to make a 4 1/4" square card; the shells were stamped in Versafine Black ink on watercolor paper and watercolored (very quickly!), then fussy cut.  I did have a time where I had to stop the clock when I dropped an entire bag of sequins on my craft room floor!!!  But altogether, after re-starting the clock, adding the sequins and a little baker's twine trim, the clock stopped at 9:15!  Just in the nick of time!

Thanks for visiting today--enjoy it and be blessed!

You Are The Best

Happy Friday, everyone!  I saw a sweet card yesterday on the very talented Carolyn King's blog and thought I would recreate it using some different stamps. While she used Sending Smiles, I used Dainty Delight florals and a sentiment from Timeless Arrangements.  Here we go:

I created the fence with Pebbled Path cardstock and the Timber embossing folder, then stamped my flowers in Crumb Cake and watercolored them in.  They were then diecut with the matching die and I added a "vine" of Old Olive going behind the fence:

The sentiment is on a Tailor Made Tag and I used some retired Baker's Twine to embellish it.  The background of my Thick Basic White card was also embossed with the Timeworn Type embossing folder!  I may try another one of these using a brown fence....I like the rustic look!

Since the Krafty Chicks challenge this week is All Occasions, I am going to enter this!  Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

FMS591 A Special Thank You

Happy Thursday, peeps!  I had a really fun day yesterday, which led me to make this special thank you card (more about that later)!  I used the FMS sketch:

along with some Berry Burst gingham and "berries":

I cut a panel of Berry Burst gingham, edged it with some zigzag borders, and added a thank you and sprigs using the Timeless Arrangements bundle:

To give the upper portion of the card a little contrast, I embossed it with a polka dot embossing folder, and then stamped a sentiment on the inside, along with a heart from Country Bouquet:

So my craft/knitting group that meets at church went out to lunch yesterday, then we visited a gorgeous yarn shop. One of the gals had a birthday, and another gal decided to give us all an "un-birthday" gift!!  We each got a gorgeous handbag, all different (she is a savvy yard-saler!) and a matching crocheted item to go with it.  Here's my beautiful Berry Burst handbag (she even made custom tags for each bag):

and a gorgeous matching shawl she crocheted; I just adore those little tassels!!!

We are so blessed to have her as a friend!  Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

CASC&S514 Nacho Average Friend

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  I have a fun little card today using the CAS Colours & Sketches sketch:

I haven't played with Taco Fiesta lately, so I stamped, colored and fussy-cut some images, and came up with this:

I began with a Crumb Cake card on which I added a Cane-embossed layer.  I diecut a piece of Basic White with one of the rounded-edge dies from Nested Essentials on which I stamped various colors of confetti, then added my figures and sentiment:

I also diecut a zigzag piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock to add some interest to the sides as well as the inside:

Finally, my sentiment from Circle Sayings went on the inside as well!  Thanks for visiting today--enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC530 Pray Without Ceasing

Happy Tuesday, peeps! The sketch from Atlantic Hearts always inspires me and this week is no exception!

I recently got some really pretty bee-themed papers, and I also just got the Queen Bee set (it's still available through Online Exclusives) so I thought I would use them together to make a card thanking our guest minister for his amazing message on Sunday!  So here we go:

I stamped, watercolored and fussy-cut the bee; although it's hard to see, the background of the leaves is Crumb Cake, the the florals are Crushed Curry:

She is mounted on a diecut piece of Brushed Gold cardstock and the card is embellished with some Metallic Gold pearls.  The sentiment is from Stamp Simply's Farmhouse Scriptural Thoughts.  In case you'd like to recreate the sketch, here are the measurements I used:

Top left panel:  2" x 2 1/8"
Top middle panel:  1 3/4" x 2 1/8"
Top right panel:  1 1/8" x 2 1/8"
Bottom horizontal panel:  1 3/8" x 5 1/8"
Very Vanilla mat:  4 x 5 1/4"
Very Vanilla sentiment banner: 1" x 5", and I hand-cut the fishtails at each end

Thanks so much for visiting today--enjoy it and be blessed!

FMS590 You're A Good Egg

Happy Monday, peeps!  I will be busy today as I have stampers coming tonight, but I wanted to squeak in a card for the FMS sketch before it ended!  I am not sure if my friend Beth will have received this in the mail yet, if she hasn't, she'll get a sneak peek!  Before I explain, let me show you the sketch:

And here's my card; I pulled out some retired goodies for this one:

Remember Hey Chick?  I stamped that crazy chicken with some Stazon ink and watercolored her, then stuck her in a little "crate" made from He's the Man DSP.  Her "straw" is from the Basket Builder Framelits!  I stamped the word "thanks" on a Conversation Bubble diecut and added another one behind it for some contrast:

And here's the inside, using another Conversation Bubbles die:

So, what prompted my chicken-themed thank you?  Beth saw the post where Cassidy was learning to separate eggs, so she sent us both these adorable egg separators:

Isn't that the cutest thing?  The feet hang on to the edge of the bowl and you just crack the egg over the openings and the white slides right into the bowl!  Haven't used it yet, but I can't wait to try it!  Thanks again, Beth!  And thank you for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

PP645 CAS One-Layer Father's Day

Happy Sunday, peeps!  It's Father's Day here in the US, and also time for a new Paper Players challenge with Jaydee as our hostess!  And it's Clean-and-Simple time!  Here's her CAS theme:

ONE LAYER!  That means just one piece of cardstock, folded in half, then stamped!!  I had lots of ideas but one-layer is challenging, isn't it? I kept wanting to add more stuff!  In the end, this is the one-layer notecard I created:

I hadn't broken into my Gone Fishing set yet, and Wayne is an avid fisherman, so I thought it would be a perfect way to create a Father's Day card for him.  I originally started on a regular-sized card, but the images looked a little dwarfed, so I trimmed it down to a note card.  Before stamping each set of images, I used the retired Watercolor Shapes and stamped a rectangle in Antique Linen Distress ink. I don't often use Distress inks, but I feel like they made my other inks bleed a little bit; I'll have to do some further experimenting with them!  I just love these little lures and fishy:

I added some speckles to the rainbow trout with a Blushing Bride marker, too....I am not sure if that's what a rainbow trout looks like in real life, but it's gonna do for my card!  I added another lure and a sentiment from the same set on the inside:

My last part was to stamp "For You" from Country Bouquet, then add a little Linen Thread to the card front....it helped to offset the rectangles that I didn't stamp quite in the center!  I am going to enter this over at the Krafty Chicks as well, as their challenge this week is Clean and Simple too!

I hope that our one-layer Clean-and-Simple challenge doesn't challenge you too much, because we'd love to see how creative you can be with it!  Be sure to check out the Design Team's samples over at the Paper Players blog....then share yours with us too!

The kids went to the Delaware shore yesterday, leaving early in the morning in Wayne's jeep....with no sides or roof!  Brrrr!  Both Cassidy and her friend Gia were well bundled-up!

Thanks for visiting today--enjoy it and be blessed!
