AYSI190 Making Spirits Bright

Happy Friday, everyone!  It's time for another As You See It challenge, and we've got a sketch for you...a wreath, and I love wreaths!  Here we go:

No automatic alt text available.

My sweet friend Linda lent me her new sets, Making Christmas Bright and Making Every Day Bright, along with the matching punch, so I thought I would put them to use making a bright, retro-colored Christmas card:

I used the Swirly Scribbles die to cut out a foil wreath, then created light bulbs in Granny Apple Green, Melon Mambo and Coastal Cabana.  If you look closely, you can see that I strung some silver thread around the bulbs to create the "cord"!!!

My greenery is Lemon Lime Twist, and I embossed the background with the Softly Falling embossing folder.  My final touches are a glimmery bow, and although you can't see it, each bulb is winked with some Stella!

I hope  you'll play along with our pretty sketch this week...be sure to check out what the other designers created as well!  Can't wait to see you at As You See It!

What a spoiled dog!

IB49 Retro Santa

Hi stampers!  I have been fighting a cold or something for the last couple of weeks and I think it got the better of me....so this will be quick!  Laurel has a fabulous retro Inspired By for us today...my mind was whirling with possibilities when I saw it.  Sadly, I just wasn't up to being too creative so my card is pretty simple:

And here is her cute photo prompt:

My Santa is from a retired Artistic Outpost set called Frosty and Friends; I stamped him in Real Red, then gave him a wee bit of color with some Blends:

His nose looks sort of how mine feels, LOL!  I matted him in Glorious Green and gave him some holly berries just like on the DSP I used for the other layer!  Red Glimmer Paper made a wonderful diecut sentiment using the Merry Christmas Thinlets, along with a sentiment from Merry Christmas to All:

The layout I used is the FMS sketch for this week:

and finally, a sweet little sentiment from Papertrey for the inside:

I have a lot of digital images that I could have used for this challenge, and I'll bet you have some fun things you could use as well! I just need a few more hours in my day!  Hope to see you in the gallery!

Getting ready to prank Mommy with a fake egg!  Silly girl!

Joyful for Inspire Create

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  I have a busy day so this will be short and sweet!  The Inspire.Create.Challenge this week is veeeery interesting:

Image may contain: text
So the idea is to create your own sketch!!  I made one sketch, two cards with matching color combinations:

Both cards use Mint Macaron and Blushing Bride ink, using one color for the card base.  It's a really simple design; the wreath from Wishing You Well was stamped in Mint Macaron, the bow and "berries" were stamped in Blushing Bride:

The berries are from Many Blessings, but you could use little dots from any set, or even just the tip of a marker or blender pen!

The final touch was an embossed sentiment using a Tim Holtz EF:

These are quick and easy enough to make several for your Christmas card stash!  Thanks for popping in today!

Another program that Cassidy uses on the computer allows her to put words into this collage:

The computer sorts it and she chooses the colors in which to print it; some of the words are a wee bit "misspelled" but it's a treasure to me!  Enjoy you day and be blessed!

Fab Friday 151

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  I have a couple of cards today using the Fab Friday sketch:

They always have such great sketches, don't they?  I originally had embossed this Merry Merlot card base to make a Christmas card, but I needed a birthday card for my niece, so I changed gears and stamped the flower from Flourishing Phrases in Berry Burst, added some embossed stitched lines and a pretty sentiment from Stitched All Around:

I added a scallop of some retired Sweet Sugar Plum glimmer paper and a glimmer enamel dot for some sparkle:

and finished it off with some glimmer ribbon as well:

My second card is a thinking of you/get well card for a friend who's going through a rough patch with some health issues!  This went together quickly with some Bo Bunny Petal Lane papers and a heart die from the Sweetly Stitched Framelits:

The sentiments inside and out are from Treat Time; I did a little fussy cutting for the inside one:

Thanks for popping in today!

Yesterday was my dad's 89th birthday; he is still battling some health issues but he did have dinner with us! He also told me there wasn't room for all 89 candles on his cake, LOL!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Happy Bird-day

Happy Monday, everyone!  I have a birthday card to share today...I have lots of December birthdays for which to make cards, so you may be seeing more than normal!  This card uses the Global Design Project sketch and the AAA Cards challenge of Mostly White:

I used Whisper White, Whisper White Thick, Crumb Cake, Champagne Foil and a teeny tiny piece of Naturals Ivory (my last piece, boohoo) to make my card today:

I do believe it is a bit of a challenge to photograph an all-white card, too!!  I used a bird and branch from Flora and Fauna, stamped in Smoky Slate and Crumb Cake, then colored with Blends:

and a sentiment from Itty Bitty Greetings, heat embossed in white, and embellished with a little scallop of Champagne Foil!  The background was embossed as well!  Such a fun card to create for a winter birthday!

Thanks for popping in today!

Cold temps don't deter playing in the park!

PP420 A Sketch from Sandy Times Two

Hello, stamping friends!  Hope your weekend is spiffy so far!  Sandy is our hostess for this week's Paper Players challenge, and she has a fabulous sketch!  Loved it so much, I made two cards!  So here we go:

I haven't used the Farmhouse Memories DSP too much this season, so I chose to do an almost-monochromatic card using Mossy Meadow with a touch of Crumb Cake for my first seasonal card:

Christmas Pines is one of the most versatile Christmas sets you could own...the sentiments are so pretty, as are the greenery pieces!  Here, I stamped the sentiment and added some Crumb Cake pinecones, then matted my square with a stitched mat and added some greenery and sequins.  I also separated a piece of thick baker's twine to make it less bulky and tied a little bow to embellish my pinecones:

The inside also has a Crumb Cake mat; sentiment is stamped in Crumb Cake and the greenery in Soft Sea Foam:

And I am also entering this in the Color Throwdown this week:

I also needed a birthday card for our soon-to-be-three-year-old nephew!  For my second card, I used a Balmy Blue card base, embossed with a geometrical EF, then added some plaid papers from Lawn Fawn and the loader from I Dig You:

I added some presents and a little "3" from the retired Little Numbers die in the bucket of the loader:

A Tim Holtz number and a sentiment from Perennial Birthday finished it off!

This sketch is great to use little pieces of DSP, and we all have them laying around!  Show us what you can create and share it with us at the Paper Players!  Can't wait to see it!  Meanwhile, check out what the DT created:

CAS Santa

Happy Saturday, peeps!  It's a dreary day here; I took a walk and now I am doing some stamping!  I am squeaking in my one-layer CAS Santa card for two challenges:

CAS Christmas wants Santa

and Less Is More wants a holiday one-layer card!

My card is 4 1/4" square; I stamped a Santa on it, made a Post-it note mask to cover him up, then cut a square reverse mask so I could stamp the burlap as a background:

I used the Stamparatus to get a good image!  Then I stamped the sentiment beneath it and my little Santa was done!

Now off to stamp some more!

A little Thanksgiving cousin interaction:

Have a pleasant day and be blessed!  Be sure to come back tomorrow for a new Paper Players challenge too!

FMS364 Vintage Santas

Happy Black Friday, peeps!  Are you a BF shopper?!  Not I!  Maybe online but I will stay in the cozy warmth of my craft room today, too cold out there!!  The FMS sketch today fit (sorta) with a vintage Santa image I have had in my scrap bin since last year when my friend Peggy lent him to me!  So here's the sketch:

And although my Santa is a rectangle, hopefully they won't toss him out:

He's stamped in Garden Green and I did some brayering with Hello Honey ink to give him a vintage feel to complement these pretty Graphic 45 papers.  I added a gold glimmer paper snowflake and a little "ho ho ho" sentiment:

I went ahead and made another one with a different vintage Santa; this one is from a retired Crafty Secrets set:

I stamped a silhouette image at the bottom and added some more sponging to the image and sentiment:

And since the TGIF challenge this week is sponging, I am entering this card!

That's it for today, two easy peasy cards!

Hope you had a good Thanksgiving!  Armed with apples and carrots, we took a walk on Wednesday in the brisk temps to feed the horses down the road:

This poor guy had only one eye...it freaked out the kids a little bit, but eventually they were less afraid.  I think he might have been a rescue horse...the next time I see the owner, we'll ask him!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!
