PP412 Happy Halloween

Happy Sunday, peeps!  I am the hostess at the Paper Players this week, and I have a tic-tac-toe challenge for you!  I think there are plenty of seasonal elements here for you to create something to your liking!  So here it is:

I have so many Halloween stamps, I have to start early to give them all some love, LOL!  For my card today, I used the center column of patterned paper, pumpkin and orange/rust.

My stamp is called Medium Jack-O-Lantern from Rubber Cottage, stamped directly on some Authentique paper and colored with markers, then diecut with a Stitched Shapes oval:

Behind the jack, I added some of the bare trees from the In The Woods Framelits....I thought they looked spooky, and kind of matched the twigs on which Mr. Jack is sitting!!  The banner is from the same paper pad, and it's hard to see, but I stamped some ziggity sewing lines down both sides, then added a little Sahara Sand tag, stamped with a sentiment and a few background stamps.  I also embossed the Very Vanilla layer with a chevron embossing folder:

On the inside, I stamped a sentiment and a couple of stars from a new CTMH set (like I needed more Halloween sets, LOL!):

Finally, the sketch I used for my card came from the FabFriday challenge:

The design team has come up with some beauties for the challenge, please check them out and give them some love:

Leafy Sympathy

Happy Friday, peeps!  Not sure why, but I struggled so much with my card today!!  I used the FMS sketch:

and I love things in threes, but I think because I was trying to match the colors in the washi tape, I just wasn't feelin' the love!  Oh well....it's on its way and hopefully the family will get some comfort from it!

My vertical panels are from the Stitched Labels dies, cut from retired Baja Breeze cardstock, and my leaves are from Lawn Fawn, cut from Poppy Parade, Hello Honey and Mossy Meadow.  The washi is from Simple Stories' Winter Wonderland, and the sentiment is from Our Daily Bread Design's Mini Tag Sentiments:

And since I used washi tape, I am also entering this in Festive Friday's washi challenge:

#festivefridaychallenge, #FF0017, Stampin Up, World Card Making Day, Washi Tape

Hanging on to summer outfits as long as she can!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

IB39 Cozy Up to Christmas

Hi everyone!  Happy Thursday....blessedly, we had a lovely sunny day yesterday and it looks like a nice weekend coming up!  I can't wait!  It's about time!  For Laurel's Inspired By challenge this week, it's a cozy one!  Here's my take on it:

And here's her prompt....such a sweet little vignette, warm and cozy!  I chose the Buffalo Check (of course) and that black and white throw as my inspiration!

Image may contain: indoor

I used the Sunday Stamps sketch for this week:

We did a similar card for my recent Christmas card stamp camp, and I thought it would translate nicely to this sketch!  I actually CASEd this idea from my PP teamie, Laurie!  You can see hers here!  I started by stamping a Real Red card with the Buffalo Check background stamp in Basic Black, then adding a white panel from which I diecut three trees.  I backed it with some black and white printed paper, popped up a couple of the trees in front, and then added some snowy glitter to them:

I added a wee little sentiment, diecut with an Avery Elle die:

My final addition was a diecut black scallop horizontal panel, embellished with some thick baker's twine to give some warmth to all the red and black!  And since I used a background stamp, I am also entering this in the Stamp Ink Paper challenge for this week:

I know there is some something in our cute inspiration photo that will catch your fancy!  Please share your creation at the Inspired By blog....can't wait to see it!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

RRCB96 Patchwork Pumpkin

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  It's raining AGAIN here in PA...I feel like a little mushroom, never seeing the sun!  Hopefully October will bring some bright blue weather!  Anyway, it's time for another RetroRubber Challenge, and I chose to make a not-too-spooky fall creation:

And before I get to the details, here is our sketch:

No automatic alt text available.

My pumpkin is from a Close to My Heart set called Autumn Wishes, and it is from 2016; I stamped it three times in various shades of orange:  Grapefruit Grove, Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze, then fussy-cut each outer panel and adhered them to the original one:

I got some new Halloween papers from Authentique called Nightfall, and this patterned one seem to be a good background that complemented my "crazy-quilt" pumpkin!  I added some stitched ribbon that's been sitting in my stash forever, a black and crumb cake scalloped border and a sentiment from My Creative Time that I have had for a long time....maybe eight years? Finally, I added a couple of black cats from an Impression Obsession die set that I am embarrassed to admit that I have also had for a while and I don't think I have ever used it!  But they're cute here, don't you think?  Cute but not scary!

I didn't put a sentiment on the inside, because I think you could use this for a couple of occasions!  SO...what will you create with our sketch this week?  Remember, the stamps have to be at least one year old and you must tell us the age!  Can't wait to see what you create!

Cassidy spent the weekend at Daddy's and they made cupcakes!  She knows she could leave them at my house and they would be safe, because I just cannot eat anything BLUE!!!  (Not so sure about Grampy!)  But she was quite proud of them and she said she did all the mixing by herself!  You gotta give her credit for that!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

FMS355 A Funny Little Card

Happy Monday, peeps! I have a funny little card today, a quick one using some pretty papers and the Freshly Made Sketches sketch:

And here we go:

I bought these Authentique Meadow papers just because I love the cute little prints!  I layered a few of them with a Balmy Blue mat and a Powder Pink strip, diecut with a Lawn Fawn Stitched Border die.  Over the weekend, I watched the movie The Glass Castle; I had already read the book (it's a fascinating read, but a little sad) and the father's nickname for Jeanette was "Mountain Goat".  When I saw this little nanny goat, I just had to use her!  She is so calm and serene....I embellished her with a little PTI tag stamped in Soft Sea Foam and Balmy Blue.  A glimmer dot is the final decoration!

And here's Dana's little mountain goat, keeping her from doing her crochet!:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP411 Two Easy Card for Jaydee's Sketch

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Hope your weekend is going well!  Jaydee is our Paper Players hostess today and she has a fabulous sketch that is fun and easy:

I actually made two cards with this sketch, and I used the gorgeous Petal Promenade DSP for them; these papers are so pretty, it's easy as pie to make a card in a snap.  And I'll give you a little hint to help you with matching up those angled pieces!  So here we go:

I used both sides of one selection of DSP; you can see the sketch looks great going either way!  To get perfect cuts, cut two pieces of DSP (mine were 4" x 5 1/4"), then flip one over and stack them together.  So you'll have two pieces but different sides will be facing up.  Cut them at the angle you choose; I didn't use any mathematical calculations, I just stuck them in my cutter and went for it!  Just make sure your pieces are stacked evenly!  When you take them apart, you'll see how they match nicely....tada!  Each card will have the same sketch but the patterns will be reversed.  For both cards, I used a sentiment from Stitched All Around, stamped in Blushing Bride and diecut with the Stitched Shapes Framelits:

I cut a narrow strip of Sweet Sugar Plum glimmer paper to put behind the "seam" for a little glam!  On the next card, I turned the sketch, and I also trimmed a wee bit off of each short edge of the DSP so that the glimmer paper would show through a little more:

These are so pretty, I didn't add a single thing more as an embellishment!  I finished it by stamping the other large sentiment from the set on the inside!

The DT has come up with a fun array of samples to get your creative juices flowing!  Please be sure to share yours with us as well at the Paper Players!  You can check the DT samples out here:

AYSI185 Eclectic Blues

Hi everyone!  Yay, it's Friday, and it looks like it will be a nice weekend ahead for us!  My dad had to be put in the hospital for a couple of days for his leg and hopefully he'll come home today...he is not a good patient, LOL!  Thankfully my sister has way more patience than I do since he is living with her!  Anyway, it's time for another As You See It challenge, and it's a beauty!  What do you think?

Image may contain: text

What a gorgeous color combo...bright and bold!  I used the Sketch Saturday sketch, squeaking it in under the wire:

And here we go:

My card base was embossed with the Tufted EF, and I used Gallery Grunge and Touches of Texture to create an eclectic panel in the three challenge colors.  I added a diecut mat in Dapper Denim and a little stitched banner for my sentiment, then finished it off with some baker's twine and sequins:

I like this sentiment!!  Good for lots of things!  Thanks for popping in, I sure hope that you will play along with our challenge and add some bright colors to your creation!!  See you in the gallery!

Since our neighbors allow us to swim in their pool all summer long, when I found a pool tube (on sale!) that looked like a doughnut, I thought it would be a fun way to thank them!  They can't use it until next year, but by the look on Jackie's face, she was pretty excited:

IB38 Fall Foliage

Hi everyone!  Thursday brings another Inspired By challenge....here's my take on it:

and here's Laurel's pretty fall prompt:

The jury is still out on this card...I love the photo but I am not sure of the grays and the fall hues together on my card.  My stem and foliage images are from Beautiful Bouquet; I stamped the stem in Early Espresso and the florals in Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Cherry Cobbler, turning the stamp a few different ways to give it fullness:

After embossing the card with the Subtle embossing folder, I diecut a circle in the front and added a Smoky Slate scalloped border and Buffalo Plaid horizontal panel to pick up the pewter in the photo. I mounted the stamped panel behind the circle with dimensionals, and finally I added some sequins for sparkle!!  The sentiment is from Right At Home's Grateful Heart, stamped and embossed in white on another piece of Smoky Slate, and I colored a piece of twill ribbon with a Smoky Slate Blend...very cool!:

I hope you'll find this IB photo inspirational and you'll play along too!  Be sure to check out  the Inspired By blog to see what the other designers created, and share yours with us as well!  Thanks so much for visiting today!!

Since I can't seem to get a picture of Cassidy lately, I thought I would share a picture of a poster that she had to make for school, describing her favorite things.  It's set up like a quilt and she had to fill it in with pictures such as her favorite animal, sport, subject, etc:

She hadn't quite finished coloring the quilt blocks yet, I imagine it was quite colorful when she was done! Enjoy your day and be blessed!

GDP156 Pumpkin Hello

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  I had a lot of fun making today's card; I got to use some PUMPKINS, woohoo!    The Global Design Project challenge this week is to CASE the designer, and here's our inspiration:

And here we go:

I began with some embossing paste, dyed with Old Olive ink, and stencilled a background with one of the Pattern Party masks.  I then stamped and diecut images from last year's Pick a Pumpkin set; such a cute set and barely enough time to use it!  I added some color to the sprigs with Blends, and finished it with a sentiment Right At Home's Grateful Heart:

This reflects how happy I am that our weather has finally gotten a little more seasonal!  Bring on fall!  Thanks for popping in for a visit today!

Since I can't seem to get a picture of Cassidy lately, I'll share her school picture:

CTS289 Woodsy Thanks

Hello peeps!  Today's card uses the CAS(E) this Sketch sketch:

What a cute little retro sketch!  I wanted to make a masculine thank you card for a friend who made me a cornhole game!  Do you know what cornhole is?  You can read about it here. It's basically a big bean bag game!  Everywhere I go, people play and I can't participate because I can never get any practice in, so I finally got someone to make me one! (You know how unsports-minded I am...but I CAN play cornhole!)   Now I just need to finish it--paint or stain--and make my beanbags and I'm good to go!  Cards in Envy also has a Feels Like Fall challenge, so here's my take on both:

Normally I would not use Early Espresso as a card base, but after trying several colors, it seemed to be the best to bring out my pretty leaves from Rooted in Nature. After stamping, I diecut them with the Nature's Roots framelits.  I also heat-embossed a sentiment from the retired Watercolor Wishes:

The lineup of trees from Winter Woods worked well for the vertical images on the smaller panel;  I stamped these in Soft Suede and repositioned them on the Crumb Cake panel and stamped again without reinking.  I love the depth it created!

I placed a piece of Whisper White cardstock on the inside on which to write my note, and added some more leaves to embellish it:

Thanks for popping in today!

Cassidy sent me this picture the other day while she and Mommy were taking a walk; I guess she liked the clouds at sunset!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!
