PP403 A Little Hug

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Hope you weekend is going well so far!  Claire is our hostess with the mostest this week at the Paper Players and she's given us a sketch to work with:

I have been making mostly CAS cards lately, so it was nice to look through my humongous stash of papers to find some to play with!  I haven't done a vintage-style card for a while, so I pulled out some papers that had subtle colors to make a card for a couple in our church; perhaps I should have made it a bit brighter, but hopefully they'll enjoy it.  They both have health issues and I know they could use a paper hug!

The papers were all from a stash my friend Teri gave me, so I don't know who makes them!!  The stamp is from Hero Arts (CL758); I did a bit of paper piecing and shading of the banner:

and sponged and grunged all the layers with some Crumb Cake inks.  The green layer, as well as the Crumb Cake card base, was also stamped with an image from Gallery Grunge, and the green layer was also embossed with the Subtle EF.  On the inside, I added a Bible verse from Papertrey, stamped in Soft Suede:

The design team has a plethora of cool creations made with Claire's sketch; I hope you'll check them out and share your own with us as well!  Hope to see you at the Players!

While we were on vacation, we spent a lot of time in the town of Lewes, Delaware (pronounced "Lewis"); it's the same town where Dana and Wayne got married last September.  We like to go to the beach there; it's actually a bay where we go and we can see the Cape May-Lewes ferry coming and going!

John likes to fish and look at the boats going out:

While my thing is to sit on the beach and read:

There are treasures to be found on the beach, too; this is a horseshoe crab and a little seagull feather...not many good shells on the bay side, though:

And one morning the yacht club had sailing lessons and all the kids brought out the Sunfish sailboats:

I'll share some more later!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

I know your friends will be blessed by your beautiful and heartfelt card, LeAnn. I loved the inside sentiment, but I don't think Papertrey carries it anymore. It's such a wonderful verse!
Blessings!

You do vintage so well LeAnne - this paper combo is gorgeous. What a wonderfully uplifting sentiment too, I'm sure your church friends will appreciate it. Great holiday pics too - nothing nicer than a good book on holiday, one of life's guilty pleasures!
