Paper Players 211

DSCF4867

Happy Sunday, peeps!  I am back from my bloggy vacation; I was not really planning to participate in today’s challenge, but I had enough time to squeak in some stamping yesterday, so here I am!  Nance is our lovely hostess this week with a fun Tic-Tac-Toe challenge!  Here you go!

When I saw this inspiration photo at the As You See It challenge this week, I thought it would be perfect for the left-hand column….birthday, yellow and patterned paper!  I forgot about the “speed stamping” part of the challenge, though!

AYSIChallenge051

I would say that once I thought through my elements, my card probably took me about 15 minutes!!!

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Paper Players 211 Flower Shop Stampin Up!

My DP is from the Park Lane series; floral image is from Flower Patch, and I added some embossing on the smaller panel with the Fancy Fan EF.  I had a piece of burlap cut for another project and had a piece left over, so I used it as sort of an organic element, pulling a string out to use it behind my flower as well:

DSCF4868

I stamped the floral image in Basic Gray and used So Saffron and Hello Honey inks and an aquapainter to loosely color it.  I added a little Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the center as well.  Since I stamped two florals,  I used the second one on the inside.  Both sentiments, stamped in Baked Brown Sugar, are from And Many More.

And my layout is from the Freshly Made Sketches sketch from this week:

I hope you’ll play along with our Tic-Tac-Toe challenge….there are so many fun ways to play, I am sure you’ll find one that tickles your fancy!  Check them all out at the Paper Players blog to see the beauties our design team came up with, too!

Since we were away for a couple of days, I didn’t get to see Cassidy, but I did have a couple pictures from before we left!  Here she is with the lid of a big basket that my grandmother used to use for her sewing supplies; here, Cassidy is using it as a hat:

and as a tray for her wooden “cookies”!  Mmmmmm!

Stampin’ Royalty 243

DSCF4851

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  Today is my last day as guest designer for the Stampin’ Royalty team!  It’s been a pleasure for sure!  Today, we have a photo inspiration as our challenge:

August Challenges (1)

For my birthday, my friend Martha gave me this beautiful floral die, so I put it to use for my card today:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Stampin Royalty 243 Rustic Thank You Stampin Up

I used a Tim Holtz brick embossing folder and sponged on some So Saffron ink, then added a burlap banner  with a bit of So Saffron behind it, as well as some glitter.  You can’t see it here, but it added just a little special “oomph” to my card!  The Old Olive banner on top was made by distressing a piece of cardstock until the fibers were broken, then peeling the layers apart.   The sentiment was from Celebrate Baby.

This will be my last post for a couple of days as we are taking a little bloggy break!  See you soon!

ColourQ

DSCF4854
Happy Tuesday, peeps!  Another ColourQ day….check this out:

This reminds me of the embroidery floss bracelets my daughter used to make when she was a kid….shoot, she was making one the other day when I stopped by her house!!  Aren’t those colors fun?  I used last week’s Retro Sketches sketch (I know it’s expired, but I liked it!) and I already had Yee-Haw sitting on my desk, so I inked it up again:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings ColourQ256 Yee-Haw Birthday

I saw a cool way to make rickrack using the Envelope Punch Board; you can see it here.  I stamped mine with the letters from Kinda Eclectic, and I used the sunburst from that set too.  The banner was stamped with Chalk Lines, and although you can’t tell, the blue star is glittered up!

DSCF4855

And I just love the inside!  The set Endless Birthday Wishes is so helpful in creating custom sentiments!

Hope you’ll play along with us!  Check out all the samples at the ColourQ blog!

I wanted to share with you Cassidy’s birthday dress; here she is a church:

and here, her “official’ pose, LOL:

Merry Monday 123

DSCF4745
Happy Monday, everyone! Time for another Merry Monday challenge! Before we get to it, though, I want to remind you that three of my favorite stampers will be sharing a little bit about themselves via the Creative Blog Hop today.  Please check out their blogs:  Sandy, Joanne and Claire!  Stop by and leave them a little love!

Bonnie is our Merry Monday hostess today, and here is the challenge she’s come up with:

Bonnie makes the most amazing cards!  For her challenge, I again chose a simple design with a simple wreath, using a tag I had diecut and was already laying on my desk:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Merry Monday 123 Wreath Christmas

I stamped my wreath in Mossy Meadow, then mounted it on a stitched mat in some retired Wintergreen DP.  I added a few ribbons to the tag and some silver “ornaments”

DSCF4748

I added a silver embossed panel and stamped my sentiment in silver as well; and here’s the inside:

DSCF4749

I hope you’ll play along with us and make a wreath-themed card!  You’ll be able to add one more card to your Christmas card stash!  And be sure to check out all the designers’ creations at the Merry Monday blog!
One of Cassidy’s gifts for her birthday was a nice little two-wheeler.  She’s adept at tricycles, but the two-wheeler proved a little more challenging:

We’ll keep working on that!

Paper Players 210

DSCF4755

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Jaydee is our Paper Players hostess today with a cool sketch!  Here ya go:

I saw this set revealed at convention and could not wait to get it!  It’s a photopolymer set called Yee-Haw!  It has tons of fun images and sentiments!  I searched the current DP for something that looked “country” (not a lot there) but I did find this pattern from Confetti Celebration, so I went to work!  I did take a little liberty with the shape of the element, and my card is note card –size.  I just stamped the various images and snipped them out and popped them up:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Paper Players 210 Yee Haw Thank You Stampin Up

I did a little shading on the hat and cactus:

DSCF4756

and since this is a thank-you card, I added this sentiment on the inside:

DSCF4757

I used Baked Brown Sugar, Cajun Craze, Hello Honey and Pear Pizzazz!

Now, what will you make with this fun sketch?  The design team has done a fabulous job, they’re all so unique!!!  Check them out:

AYSI050

DSCF4858

Happy Saturday, peeps!  I managed to pick up a yucky sinus infection and haven’t felt much like stamping!  But I did see a fun sketch from As You See It this week:

AYSIChallenge050

I had some stampers over last night and I always like to have samples to show them, so I made up this uber-quick Christmas card using the Project Life Holiday Cheer set:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Christmas Notecard Project Life

The stamps are fairly small, so I made this notecard-size.  I added a quick little dazzle with a sparkly gel pen on each of the images, then mounted them on a strip of Cherry Cobbler and stamped the little Nordic image on each side of the strip:

I added the final sentiment in Garden Green and it was done!  Easy peasy!  Now be sure to stop back tomorrow for the Paper Players challenge!

Stampin’ Royalty 242-Alphabets

DSCF4678

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  Wow, I can’t believe this month is almost over and I only have one more week to participate as a guest designer at Stampin’ Royalty!  It’s been so fun!  This week’s challenge is to use alphabet letters!  I rummaged around in my retired DP and found just the right one!

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Stampin Royalty 242 Alphabets Stampin Up

Storytime not only had great background papers, it also had this cute little image, just right for a boy’s birthday!  I made a little card with my File Tab die, stamped a couple of Verve sentiments on it and then cut out some ABCs in Real Red, So Saffron and Baja Breeze with the Little Letters dies.  They looked a little plain so I cut another set in Basic Black to layer behind them like a shadow, and I like this look much better!

DSCF4680

I added a little metal arrow clip and some baker’s twine:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Stampin Royalty 242 Alphabets Stampin Up-001

and I had some vintage-looking DP that sort of fit the theme of this card, and used it to make a custom-sized envelope, since this card is about 7 1/2” x 4 1/4”!!  That Envelope Punch Board is so handy!

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Stampin Royalty 242 Alphabets Stampin Up-002

I’ll bet there are lots of ways that you could incorporate alphabet letters into your creation, especially since it’s back-to-school time!  Can’t wait to see what you create; share it with us at Stampin’ Royalty!

ColourQ255

DSCF4846

Hi everyone!  Tuesday brings us another ColourQ challenge, and it’s a beauty:

I don’t think I did this challenge justice; I think Rich Razzleberry just always throws me for a loop!  I wanted it to be the focal color but I am never quite sure about using it when all is said and done:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings ColourQ255 Hello Darling Stampin Up

I used watercolor paper to give my images a softer tone, using Hello Darling (one of these days I am going to type “Hello Dolly” by mistake, LOL).  Maybe I should have softened the images with a damp paintbrush….but no, I probably would have made a big mess!  Instead, I added some Gorgeous Grunge speckles and some Work of Art swooshes to imitate watercoloring!  The sentiment from A Dozen Thoughts seemed to fit the mood of this card.  And although you can’t see it here, I added a little sparkle with a Jelly Roll pen to my faux sequins:

DSCF4844

IRL, it adds just a little shine and shimmer.  My Old Olive cardbase was stamped with another floral image from this set, creating a nice monochromatic background.  Ooops, almost forgot, the sketch today is from CAS(E) This Sketch #88:

Hope you will stop by the ColourQ blog to see the amazing samples the others have created….be sure to share your creation with us too!

Cassidy requested a Hello Kitty cake for her birthday.  Here’s my attempt (cake-decorating is not my forte, although I WISH it was!!):

Well, she liked it….and it tasted good….so I guess that’s all that matters!  Enjoy your day!
