TSOT178 Birthday

DSCF4310

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  Boy, this week is flying by!  I seem to need a lot of birthday cards this month, so I put the sketch at Try Stampin’ on Tuesday  to use for my card today!  Here’s the sketch:

I did flip it, because I wanted to use a sentiment from the set we got at convention, Amazing Birthday:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Awesome Birthday Stampin Up Flower Patch

I already had some vellum on my desk from my MM card, so I embossed the sentiment in white and mounted it on top of a pretty floral from the All Abloom DP stack.  I didn’t want to cover up all those flowers!  I added some piercing around my Strawberry Slush frame:

DSCF4309

And I finished it off with some sequins and a Daffodil Delight Flower Patch image….it’s the largest flower, and I cut off the outside petals to make it smaller!  Thanks so much for visiting today!

A couple people noticed that Cassidy wasn’t at the birthday party, and that’s right…she was at her daddy’s this past weekend!  But she is here today, eating leftover cupcakes and whatever else she can find, LOL!  Here she is last week, helping wash off the plethora of produce that our garden is spewing out:

And this is only a little bit of it!  Stamping AND gardening in the summer…it’s hard to get it all done!  But I did find a great lemon zucchini bread recipe!  If anyone wants it, let me know and I’ll email it to you!!  Make sure you give me your email address!!!

ColourQ252 and Thanks!

DSCF4291

Hi everyone!  Happy Tuesday!  Do you see a Christmas image?  Do you think it’s Monday?  Are you all mixed up?  I am!  Yesterday, for the Merry Monday challenge, I posted my regular Christmas card.  But when I went to check out the other designers’ posts, I had a BIG surprise!  You can see for yourself HERE.  I hit a big birthday yesterday, and Lesley organized a birthday blog hop for me!  She is such a sweetie, as are all the girls on the MM team….thank you EVERYONE so much!  If I haven’t gotten around to commenting on your beautiful cards, I will!!!

Anyway, on to the ColourQ….and look at these fun little ornaments Arielle picked out!!!  Of course, I had to do another Christmas card, although some of the designers did NOT….you’ll have to go look and see what they did with these colors:

So here is my card:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings ColourQ252 Vintage Santa Christmas

I used a bunch of different stamps on this (if you want to know which ones, just email me….I am too tired to list them right now, LOL!)…along with some rickrack, embossing and sequins!  A little whimsy for a vintage card!

DSCF4292

And I used the sketch from Match the Sketch 30:

And while I was at it, I had a quarter sheet of Real Red cardstock on my desk, so I folded it in half to make a little skinny card, and stamped some of the images from the new Project Life Holiday Cheer set.  I punched them out with the 1” square punch and mounted them on Early Espresso squares punched with the Postage Stamp punch:

I added a little embossing, a little twine and a little glitter!

DSCF4296

Another card for my stash!  I hope you’ll play along with our Christmas in July colors this week!!!  Can’t wait to see what you do!

So Saturday we had a little garage-warming/birthday bash at our house!  John finished his garage and we had decided to have a party to thank the people who helped him out.  We decided to combine it with my birthday!  My sister flew in from SC for a day to help out…she is such a sweetie!  And she makes me laugh!

And just in case you are interested in garages, here is the final product:

DSCF9369

It is much bigger than it looks in this picture!  The men (and some of the women) were quite impressed!  And I am pretty impressed too, because John did most of it himself!  And it makes a pretty cool place in which to have a party!

Enjoy your day!  And thank you again to all of you who wished me well on my big day!

Merry Monday 119

DSCF4188
Happy Monday, peeps!  It’s good to be back stamping some Christmas creations!  Lesley’s challenge today is a great one….check this out:

All those elements together make me think VINTAGE, so I pulled out Winter Post and a beautiful Darice EF to make my card this week:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Merry Monday 119 Winter Post Embossed Snowflake Vintage Christmas Card

I started with a Very Vanilla card base, then embossed a piece of Crumb Cake with the snowflake EF.  I daubered white craft ink on the raised portions of the embossed piece and then adhered it to the card.  I stamped the skaters on a piece of vellum in Chocolate Chip, then cut it out with a Labels die.  I then cut a CC frame using the Labels die as well, and stamped some snowflakes around the edge, sponging for a vintage look.  The whole shebang was then adhered to the card…can you see the embossed snowflakes through the vellum?  I love that look!

DSCF4192

I added a piece of the new SU Venetian Crochet Trim with a few little banners:

DSCF4191

and then used the cutout from the frame for my inside sentiment:

DSCF4193

My last step was to glitter up some of the snowflakes on the front…..a very frosty finish to my card!  And since the Catered Crop’s challenge this week is to use vellum, I’m entering this card there as well!
The DT has come up with some gorgeous samples, as usual…I hope you’ll stop by the Merry Monday blog to see them all and share yours with us as well!

Paper Players 206

DSCF4184

Hi peeps!  I missed everyone SO MUCH this last week, but it was nice to have a break from blogging and commenting, especially coming back from convention!  Ann is our hostess for the Paper Players this week, and she has a wonderful sketch for us:

My card is a wee bit busy, but I just love this Flashback DP; it has so many cool, sort of retro designs, I just had to mix them up!  We got this fun You Rock stamp at convention FREE, so I stamped it in Smoky Slate on Soft Sky cardstock and did some fussy cutting:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Paper Players 206 You Rock

I did flip the sketch so that my rocking chair wasn’t rocking right off the card, and I used a couple different patterns from the DSP pack for my banners, adding a Naturals Ivory banner for this middle, accented with a Smoky Slate sliver and some dry embossing.  When I mounted my stamp set, I cut the sentiment apart, took it off the sticky rubber and mounted it on cling-mount rubber so that I could use it with other images as well!

DSCF4186

I also added a little file tab for fun, stamping it with a new little argyle image from a set in the upcoming Holiday mini called Project Life Holiday Cheer!  Finally, I added a little heart “pillow” sitting on the seat of the rocker!  I can think of a few friends that ROCK in my book!  Maybe I’ll send it to one of them!

I hope that you find this sketch inspiring and you’ll want to play along with us this week!  Check out the other designers’ creations at the Paper Players, or just click on the links below!

I know convention is long-gone, but I do have a few photos to show you!  Here is one of me with some very sweet ladies!

We’ve got Linda Callahan, Dawn Tidd, Claire Broadwater, me, Nancy Lempinen-Leedy, and Nance’s mom, Nancy Lempinen!  It seems that royal blue was the color of the evening, LOL!  And here’s a little picture of Cassidy too; I sure missed her while I was gone!

Paper Players 205

Hi everyone!  As you read this, I am on my way home from convention, tired but happy!   Sandy is our hostess today with a clean and simple monochromatic challenge:

I was so happy to see this challenge, because it fit perfectly for this card I made recently, and I made a smaller version of it for some of my convention swaps!  I borrowed an idea I saw on Erica Cerwin's blog...but mine uses the Little Letters Framelits and the cupcake from Sweet Stuff:

I used a piece of DSP to run behind my letters, which were cut from a circle of Melon Mambo, and I colored my cupcake with Pink Pirouette and Melon Mambo, then added some "icing" of Dazzling Diamonds glitter  Yum is right!

Now, I hope you'll go visit my other friends at the Paper Players to see what monochromatic CAS creations they have come up with!  And share your creation with us as well!

ColourQ 250

DSCF4065-001

Hi everyone!  Tuesday means ColourQ day!  Arielle has a fabulous challenge for us today:

I love this dress….the bold colors and design remind me of the Mondrian style from the 60s!  I knew right away how I was going to interpret this!  I pulled out some Back to Black DP and went to coloring in some of the florals with markers:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings ColourQ250 Hey There Stampin Up -2

I added this great sentiment from Hi There, and since I already had some sequins out on my desk  from Monday’s card, I added a few to the Chalk Talk die panel…I think it adds a nice little sparkle!  Can’t wait to see how you interpret this cool design!

I’ll be taking a little bloggy break….after I get home from convention I have a few family obligations, so I am not committing to posting anything for the week!  But if I do have time, I might pop in…..you never know!

I caught Cassidy sitting on her bed, playing with an old FP carousel toy:

She loves to figure out how things work!

Merry Monday 117

DSCF4123

Happy Monday, everyone!  It’s time for another Merry Monday too!  Here’s Deanne’s challenge today:

I am late getting on the sequin bandwagon….sometimes I feel certain fads come around and I need to buy a bunch of stuff…..and then I am stuck with the product for the next ten years, LOL!  I did buy a few of the In Color sequins though…they are so pretty and they look so nice on my vintage tree from Graphic 45:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Merry Monday 117 Graphic 45 Christmas Stampin

Since I am gearing up for convention, this was an easy way to create a card…using some cutouts from a piece of DP and adding the sequins, a sentiment from Sweet & Sassy, and some ribbon!

DSCF4124

Here’s a closeup of the “ornaments”:

DSCF4126

I added a little sequin to the inside, with a sentiment from Amy R Stamps:

DSCF4125

Since I am sure you all have waaaay more sequins than I do, I hope you’ll get them out and use them on a card this week, and share it with us at Merry Monday!  Can’t wait to see it!

Since I don’t have a picture of Cassidy today (I won’t see her until I come back from convention), I thought you might like to see a picture of my niece and her new hubby:

Paper Players 204

DSCF4113

Good morning, peeps!  I am the hostess at the Paper Players today, and I’ve got a color challenge for you!  Here you go:

Recently, I received this sweet card from a friend, and was enamoured with the colors in it---three of them were similar to our new In Colors:

DSCF4109

So that is from where I drew my inspiration, not only for the colors but some of the elements in my own card:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Paper Players 204 Flower Patch

Instead of a heart, I used a Labels die and stamped some of the floral images from Flower Patch randomly on the white panel.  In hindsight, I wish I had not used the lighter shade of Blackberry Bliss (just stamped off on scrap paper) as I think it detracts from the true color, but I’ve had a busy weekend and I just didn’t have time for a re-do!  I did stamp some leaf images directly onto the All Abloom DP, which is kind of fun, and did a pleated ribbony thing to mimic the banner in the inspiration card.  A sentiment from And Many More, with some pearl embellishments, finished it off!

DSCF4114

I hope you will visit the Paper Players blog, or the designers’ blogs, because they ROCKED these colors….they are all just gorgeous!  Here they are:
